Hello everyone!
I've been a fan of Polaris products for a long time. They're reliable manufacturers of various household appliances, including smart ones.
I've been using their 'Smart' kettle for over a year now, which can be controlled remotely. You can read my review of it here.
This time, I needed an electric meat grinder. I was tired of chopping meat by hand or using an old Soviet meat grinder.
I chose the meat grinder based on its price and feature set. I didn't need complicated attachments, so I opted for a model with basic blade-attachments.
The Polaris PMG 1852 model caught my eye.
I ordered the meat grinder on the Sbermegamarket marketplace. The price at the time of purchase was 3788 rubles. The only thing that didn't please me when ordering was the delivery time and the need for prepayment. The delivery time was around a month, and I had to pay 100% of the amount online. We received the order at a pickup point near my home.
The wait was worth it.
Unboxing
The meat grinder comes in a standard colorful box with a plastic handle. The box is nice-looking and visually appealing. The box features the product and its characteristics. The handle for carrying is sturdy and reliable.
The inside of the box is protected by cardboard. Each metal part is packed in a separate transparent pouch.
The box includes a passport-instruction and a guarantee certificate.
Assembly
The meat grinder assembles and disassembles quickly. All removable parts, except for the base block, can be washed, even in a dishwasher.
When I first unboxed the Polaris meat grinder, I was excited to see what was included in the package.
- The main unit
- 2 high-quality steel grates (5 mm, 7 mm);
- A high-quality plastic meat tray;
- A plastic pusher.
Technical specs:
Power - 1800 W
Output - 2 kg/min
Body material - Plastic
Meat tray material - Plastic
Reverse function
PROtect+ protection system
The main unit has a sleek design, made from matte black plastic. You can also get it in white from the Polaris store. The bottom of the unit has rubber feet that prevent the meat grinder from sliding off the counter during use.
This meat grinder comes with a built-in PROtect+ protection system. It's a temperature control system that protects the motor from overheating. I'm confident that this will extend the life of the meat grinder.
My impression
My first experience with the meat grinder was preparing ground meat for freezing. On the first use, I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of the grinding process. It happened so quickly, I barely had time to blink.
The meat grinder is moderately loud. You won't be able to sleep with it on, but it's not annoying either.
The control is straightforward - just one button. Press it one way to turn it on, and the other way to engage the reverse function.
Now, I'd like to share my own recipe for meatballs. You'll need:
- 500-700 grams of chicken or turkey breast
- 50 grams of hard cheese
- 1 medium onion
- 1-2 cloves of garlic
- 1 egg
- Salt and spices to taste. I use salt and dried garlic.
I used the meat grinder to chop up some chicken breast, onion, garlic, and cheese. Then I added some spices, salt, and an egg to the mixture and formed it into little patties. After that, I just pan-fried them until they had a nice golden-brown crust.
I served them up with whatever side dish I felt like, and they were a real treat.
I'm really impressed with this meat grinder - it's got all the basic features you'd want. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a new one.
