I recently stumbled upon a new-for-me Buldak noodle in green packaging at the local Magnit store. I decided to give it a try.

At 230 rubles, the value for money is decent, but you can find it cheaper on marketplaces. I was a bit disappointed to find it nowhere else in other Magnit stores.

The green packaging is a dead giveaway that this is a non-Russian version of Buldak. It takes a few tries to figure out that it's actually Buldak. The back has a sticker with all the necessary information in Russian.

This particular pack comes with sundried vegetables and a black bean sauce that's already mixed with the red sauce. That makes it super convenient, but also harder to control the spiciness without losing flavor.

🍜 Cooking

As with any other rectangular Buldak, cooking is a breeze. Simply heat up 600 ml of water and boil it for 5 minutes. Don't forget to add the packet of sundried vegetables to the water.

I prefer a more elastic noodle, so I usually boil it for 4 minutes and stir constantly.

Once the noodles are cooked to perfection, all that's left is to pour the sauce from the second packet. This sauce really stands out from the usual, and it's noticeable both in color and consistency.

The sauce is sweet and savory, with a flavor that reminds me of soy sauce.

I was blown away by the flavor of the sauce, which is surprisingly sweet and savory. It's got a nice kick of spiciness, but it's not as intense as I'd expect. In fact, it's on par with Lite versions like cheese or carbonara.
