You Won't Find Junk Here - Great Deals at Familia

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm obsessed with Familia, an off-price store that's a total game changer for bargain hunters. I used to think it was just a second-hand store, but they bring in old collections, sometimes vintage items, and seconds at a massive discount. The store's divided into zones for different products, and I was blown away by the variety of kitchenware, shoes, and home decor. My only tip is to check the ratings on your maps before visiting, as some stores can be total dumps. Overall, Familia's a must-visit for anyone looking for great deals on quality products. You'll find everything from clothing to home decor, all at a fraction of the cost. The store's layout is clean and organized, making it easy to find what you need. Plus, the staff is friendly and helpful, always happy to answer questions. I've been to Familia a few times now, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the products. Sure, quality control can be inconsistent, but the prices are so low that it's hard to complain. Just be sure to inspect products carefully before making a purchase. And if you're not satisfied, Familia has a reasonable return and exchange policy. I've had a great experience with Familia, and I'm sure you will too.

Hello everyone!
I'm sharing my honest experience with Familia, an off-price store that's a no-brainer. They bring in old collections, sometimes vintage items, and seconds. I used to think it was just a second-hand store, but I'd jump at the chance to buy new stuff at a massive discount!
I only went to Familia in Yekaterinburg, but if you're local, I'd recommend checking out the one in Megapolis – it's massive, and the selection is always way better. I found some really cool stuff in Park House, actually. If you're in other cities, just check the ratings on your maps, I guess. Some of these stores are total dumps, and you might get a bad impression.
The store is divided into zones for men's, women's, and kids' stuff, premium items, home decor, and sports wear. There's a ton of kitchenware, shoes, a book and paper goods section, and near the cashiers, they have snacks, cosmetics, and skincare.
Just be aware that people might try to put things in the wrong size, so you might end up searching for ages. I usually stuck to my xs-m sizes, and that was enough to keep me occupied for a few hours.
Let's be real, it's not always a tidy affair, but most of the time the mess is down to the customers. Some people will try on a bunch of clothes, then drop them while they're still in the changing room, or they'll just plain old knock them over. But if you get there early, it's not too bad, and you don't feel like you're in the middle of a chaotic scene.
Some people even bring their shopping trolleys in with them, which is pretty crazy. I've even seen some of them trying to sneak in extra items. It's pretty wild.
I usually try on tops and dresses, but I have to say, I love digging through the jeans section the most. You can find some really great, high-quality jeans in there, often for a fraction of the original price – I'm talking 500 to 1000 rubles.
For example, I saw a pair of jeans that was originally priced at 22,000 rubles, but I could have bought it for 2,200 rubles. They even fit me perfectly, which is rare, since I usually have trouble finding jeans that fit my waist. But I didn't end up buying them because I already had a similar pair.
I have to say, these jeans were a total steal. I think they're basically indestructible, I've been wearing them nonstop for months and they still look brand new, now they're just chillin' while I've been trying to lose a few pounds and they were under 500 rubles.
I was also eyeing those Uggs, but the toe box was super uncomfortable. You can find some great, stylish options in boots too. I even saw some sick boots from Lolli l Polli.
And these Blackstar pants were a hit, but my husband didn't vibe with how they fit. In my opinion, they're super comfy – my sister ended up taking them, but only in green. There were a ton of pants from Timati's brand too, I'm not even sure which ones they were, but they seemed to be on sale, and none of them were a miss. But these pants in particular have some amazing fabric that's super soft and comfy against my skin.
Now that I'm at an age where I care about my dishes, I've been getting really into home decor too, since I moved into my own place. And let me tell you, there's just an insane amount of different cups, plates, and bowls out there. My only problem is that most of them are one-of-a-kind!
I was thrilled to find mugs that looked just like mine, but the ones in my family's collection were slightly worse off. If you like these mugs, check out Farforovaya klassika – they're a classic!
The biggest issue is that many items are only available in one size or color, so you have to search high and low to find the right one, and even then, it's not a guarantee it'll fit.
I was really looking forward to buying these items last summer.
I wanted to get a sexy dress for a trip to Bali, something I could wear around the villa and take cute photos in. I even found my size, but it didn't fit me. The price was super cheap, which just made it more disappointing.
This cute little plate from Mango was another disappointment. It was way too tight around the bust and just didn't fit right, even though I'm the right size. I've seen some other items from the same brand with weird stitching, but not all of them are like that.
Let's face it, finding cool stuff in any store can be a thrill, especially when you're browsing through a bunch of weird stuff. But you need to have an eye for style or just be lucky. And of course, it's even more awesome when you find something great at a super low price.
I was on the hunt for a new beach cover-up last summer, and I stumbled upon this super cute tunic. It was perfect for the beach, but unfortunately, it didn't come in my size.
I usually only check out the snacks near the checkout counter. I mean, the cosmetics and shampoos are just too cheap and from unknown brands, so I'm a bit hesitant to try them out.
I do, however, love trying out new snacks, like chocolate, soymilk sauce, and balsamic vinegar.
💸 THE VERDICT
I've only ever shopped at this place for jeans and shorts, and I have to say, I found some great deals. I once got a pair of shorts for just 150 rubles, and the quality was top-notch. So yeah, you can find some hidden gems here, but you have to be willing to dig through the racks.
My sister and I actually bought a huge bundle of great stuff once, and it only cost us 5,000 rubles. I was pretty shocked by the prices, to be honest. Usually, I buy clothes abroad, and I'd be happy to pay that much for a single shirt, but here I got a whole bunch of nice items for a fraction of the cost. However, we don't go there as often anymore because it's just too much work to sift through everything.
Of course, I know some people love shopping at thrift stores, and they'll often visit multiple locations to find the best deals. If you're one of those people, then this place is definitely worth checking out.
All in all, I think places like this are a great option for anyone, regardless of their budget. You can always find something that suits your style and budget.
