The liner just doesn't seem to be very saturated. Or at least, not as saturated as I'd like a black color to be. It's not a huge problem if you're layering it over a darker color, like in the illustration, but on white paper, it looks pretty pale even after multiple layers. The liner doesn't damage the paper, except maybe if it's really thin – it's better to use thicker paper for large fills.

This portrait was done with markers, watercolors, and some added details with gouache. Unfortunately, the markers I used didn't work out too well, so I had to touch up the darker areas with the liner. And as you can see, the black really pops against the darker colors. I'm not sure why it doesn't work as well on the lighter areas, though.
One thing to note is that the liner does smudge when it gets wet. Keep that in mind. It might also be smudged by the markers.
My Verdict
I'm happy with my purchase, although I have to say that 209 rubles for a liner feels a bit steep. The Sakura liners with all their variations and extra features are only a bit more expensive. That being said, this liner does its job, and the brush doesn't fall apart or get too mushy. It's got a nice balance of softness and springiness, so I'll definitely be using it again.
