T-Bank (Formerly Tinkoff Bank)

T-Bank is a digital banking service that's got your back. With a super user-friendly interface and top-notch security, you can manage your finances with ease and peace of mind. It's a great option for those looking for a hassle-free banking experience that's actually hassle-free - no hidden fees, no complicated paperwork. Just you, your money, and a whole lot of peace of mind.

My Mixed Experience with T-Bank: Cashback, Aggression, and More

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been a T-Bank customer since summer 2025, and my experience has been a mixed bag. I was drawn in by their referral payments and decent cashback offers, but the calls from their sales team were overwhelming. I got tired of hanging up on them, and it felt like they were being a bit too aggressive. On the plus side, I did get around $5,000 in referral payments, and the cashback was a nice bonus. But I'm not convinced about the value for money with T-Bank, especially when you factor in their paid services if you don't have a deposit. I'd recommend being cautious and doing your research before signing up.

My Mixed Experience with T-Bank: Cashback, Aggression, and More
I've been a T-Bank customer since summer 2025, and I was initially drawn to their referral payments and decent cashback offers. Their referral links are way better than VTB's, and that's a big plus - I got around $5,000 in referral payments, although I'm not entirely sure of the exact amount.
But the calls started pouring in as soon as I got my cards. I'm talking daily calls from T-Bank, offering T-Investments, loans, and other stuff. They even called me at 7 am! I got tired of hanging up on them, and it felt like they were being a bit too aggressive. No other bank has been this pushy in their sales pitches.
After a couple of weeks, the calls slowed down to a few times a month. I used my credit card to get a referral payment, and I closed the balance before the promotional period ended. It was a good move, and I was happy to get the cashback.
Then, I noticed that some 99 rubles were being deducted from my card, and I discovered that I'd accidentally signed up for paid debt insurance. Okay, I cancelled it, but it was a bit of a hassle.
T-Bank started pushing me to take out a mortgage loan. Just a mortgage loan, not even a regular consumer loan. They sent me notifications, called me, and kept nagging me! I told them multiple times that I didn't need any loans, but they just kept going. The final straw was when I logged in to choose my cashback categories for the next month and saw this:
They were offering me cashback on a mortgage loan! It was both funny and sad... I'd never seen a bank be this shameless. I mean, who offers cashback on a mortgage loan?
On top of all this, there was a minor annoyance with the cashback: I rushed and chose a cashback on a Magnit subscription, thinking it was just for purchases at Magnit. And I got a notification that my subscription was activated – and it was paid! They didn't even ask me, I just selected the cashback category. It was a bit of a surprise, but I guess it's a good thing I got the cashback.
By the way, my card maintenance is paid, although when I ordered the card, it said it would be free. Apparently, 'free' comes with asterisks, and it's only free if you have a credit balance of at least 50,000 rubles or a non-deductible balance. Otherwise, it's 99 rubles. It's a bit annoying, but I guess it's not the end of the world.
I used both the debit and credit cards from T-Bank. I only used the credit card for a referral payment, and the interest rates are steep, so I wouldn't recommend taking out a loan. Regarding the debit card, yes, there are some decent cashback offers, but that's where the positives end. They're super aggressive about offering mortgage loans – a major minus! It's just too much. The interest rates on savings accounts and deposits are reasonable, but not the highest. I wouldn't recommend T-Bank.
I've tried to give T-Bank the benefit of the doubt, but their behavior has been really off-putting. I've had to deal with constant calls, unwanted loan offers, and even accidental charges. It's just too much to handle. If you're looking for a bank with decent cashback offers, there are better options out there.
Overall, my experience with T-Bank has been a mixed bag. While they do offer some good cashback deals, their aggressive sales tactics and constant calls have made it difficult for me to enjoy my banking experience. I'd recommend exploring other options before committing to T-Bank.
Rating: 2/5 stars
