I'm a bit of an unconventional bride, and my engagement ring story is no exception. I got married without a wedding dress or an engagement ring, and it's a crazy story how it happened. My then-fiancé and I were sitting in a café in a different city, sipping coffee and chatting, when he suggested we go get married right then and there. He called the registry office and arranged for us to go, and we ended up driving there, looking up the address on our phones along the way. We got married, and afterwards, we didn't even think about buying rings. We went without them for a while.

Fast forward to summer, when we were strolling through the mall on Family and Love Day, and we decided it was high time we got ourselves some engagement rings. We walked into the first jewelry store we saw, which happened to be Sunlight.

We wanted simple gold rings that would match each other nicely. My partner loves classic yellow gold, while I wear white gold, but I decided to give in to his wishes, and we chose classic gold, but I wanted my ring to have a diamond, just like my earrings and necklace.

I explained to the sales consultant how I wanted my ring to look, and she immediately got it and brought me the exact ring I had in mind. I tried it on in the store and never took it off. While my partner was trying on his ring, I was admiring mine. Of course, I only realized later that I should have tried it on a smaller size, but in the store, it seemed perfect.

I've been wearing my engagement ring for almost 2.5 years now, and I've decided to share my story with you in this review.

We even got a nice velvet ring box, a branded cardboard box, and a paper pouch with a ribbon from the sales associate, even though we'd already put on our rings in the store.

As expected, the ring had a tag with all the necessary info on it.

We immediately cut off the tag in the store and placed it in the gift box for the ring.

The ring itself is simple. Not too thin, but not too wide either.

Thanks to its small width, it looks elegant and looks great on my slender fingers.

It doesn't look chunky or bulky and doesn't draw too much attention to itself. It pairs perfectly with other rings.

The small diamond sparkles beautifully in the light and adds that special touch, making it stand out from the crowd.

The ring isn't sharp at the edges, about 1mm thick, and doesn't dig into my skin.

On the inner side of the front part of my ring, there's a little indentation that neither I nor my husband noticed when we bought the ring.

Later on, when my husband saw it, he was disappointed that we bought me such a thin and low-quality ring, in his opinion.

When I was writing this review, I decided to find out what this indentation is and what it's for in rings. If we understood each other correctly with Yandex, this indentation is called a 'culelet.'

The culelet significantly (by 20-30%) reduces the weight of the item without affecting its strength or appearance. At the same time, the ring is left with a wide flat edge, which means it doesn't put pressure on the finger and doesn't get stuck in the skin.

Also, all sorts of lotions and hair masks, creams for hands, and so on get into this indentation and form a cloudy deposit.

Initially, I often got irritation on my skin under the ring in this area. But now I'm used to regularly cleaning the ring, and I don't worry about it anymore.

I already mentioned above that I made a slight mistake with the ring size.

Normally, I wear a 16-size ring on my ring finger, but this time I thought I'd wear the wedding ring daily and not take it off, so I decided to get 16.5 instead.

As a result, the ring is too big for me. Of course, it doesn't fall off my finger, but it does wobble and constantly twists, and I have to adjust it to keep the diamond on top. And I'm definitely not going to wear it in the ocean or pool, as the ring will definitely get lost in the water.

I've been wearing this ring every day for almost 2.5 years now, with the exception of when I'm cooking something that involves fish or meat and I need to handle raw ingredients. To avoid having to clean off unpleasant odors from the ring, I take it off during cooking.

I wear the ring for all my daily activities, and even sleep with it on.

The ring is super comfortable, lightweight, and doesn't press or dig into my skin anywhere. At first, I felt it a bit, but now I've gotten used to it and hardly even notice it's on my finger.

On the other hand, if I take the ring off during cooking, I immediately feel like something's missing.

The ring's smooth surface and the fact that the diamond is set inside the metal, rather than protruding, means it never catches on anything.

The gold quality isn't perfect, but it's not the worst either.

After a year of daily wear, I started to notice some minor scratches and scuffs on the ring that aren't noticeable to the touch, but are visible if you look closely.

At first, I was really upset about the scratches, but now I've just learned to live with them.

The ring hasn't deformed or worn off, and the diamond is still securely in place. Plus, it comes with a lifetime guarantee.

All in all, I really like this ring – it looks neat, elegant, and delicate.

The diamond sparkles beautifully in the light. I also appreciate that the ring isn't too thin or too thick – it looks really feminine and dainty on my hand.

A bit of a letdown are the minor imperfections that have developed over time.
