Krugeer Grand Cocoa Drink

I'm a total sucker for a good cocoa drink, and Krugeer Grand's version delivers. It's made with high-quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. Plus, it's a great value for money - I've tried cheaper options that just can't compare. The rich flavor and smooth texture make it a must-try for anyone who loves a good hot chocolate. I've had my fair share of hot chocolate, but this one stands out from the crowd. It's perfect for a chilly evening or a pick-me-up any time of day.

My Not-So-Hot Experience with Skrepsi Hot Chocolate

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was stoked to try Skrepsi hot chocolate after Nesquik vanished from the market, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot. The flavor was a major letdown, and I wasn't impressed with the packaging either. The bright design might appeal to kids, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for in a hot chocolate. The 200-gram volume is decent, but the price of 120 rubles feels a bit steep. I'd say Skrepsi hot chocolate is a decent option, but it's not worth the hype.

Hello everyone!
I'll be honest, I've been craving hot chocolate since Nesquik disappeared from the market. So, when I spotted a new alternative on the shelf at the store, I thought I'd give it a shot. That's how I discovered Skrepsi hot chocolate. I picked it up at a Magnit store chain for 120 rubles, which isn't bad considering the 200-gram volume.
Price: 120 rublesWhere to buy: Magnit store chainVolume: 200 gramsCountry of origin: RussiaAppearance
The hot chocolate comes in a soft plastic packaging with a super bright design that caught my eye. It's clearly targeted at kids, but I found it pretty appealing myself. The packaging is a nice touch, and the zip-lock closure works well.
I was a bit surprised by the ingredients list - sugar is the first ingredient, which isn't exactly what I was expecting. But hey, at least it's upfront, right?
Ingredients
The nutritional value is another thing that caught my attention - 350 calories per 100 grams. Not bad, but trust me, you'll need more than one spoonful to get that number up.
Nutritional value
Inside the packaging, I found 200 grams of this hot chocolate. The sugar content is evenly distributed, and the texture is pretty smooth, although the grind is a bit coarse. I didn't have any complaints about it.
The manufacturer recommends brewing the hot chocolate as follows:
I'm not a fan of strong milk flavors, so I've always made my hot chocolate with scalding water. It's the same with Nesquik and other hot chocolate mixes. For me, it's a nice taste. Initially, I added 2 teaspoons of the mix to a 250ml glass of water, just like I do with Nesquik, but it ended up being a very cloudy drink. It doesn't look appetizing, and to be honest, it tastes almost nothing. But after brewing it properly according to the instructions, it turned out much better.
Overall Impressions
What I get at the end is this drink. The chocolate flavor is definitely there, but it's extremely weak. The taste is flat and bland. Plus, I'm used to hot chocolate mixes, especially those with sugar, being more interesting. Chocolate is great on its own, but not here. It's almost like water, and I didn't even think about adding more sugar or syrup because it already has 120 calories per cup. I don't want to go through the hassle of adding extras, it's just hot chocolate. It's supposed to be tasty, and it was always like that!
So, what can I say in the end? You can drink this, the taste isn't bad, but it's not exactly enjoyable. It's not particularly energizing or filling, unlike other hot chocolate mixes and coffee. There's no characteristic foam either. That's why I bought it in February, and it's still sitting here, rarely crossing my mind. My hand doesn't often reach for it.
On top of all that, it's clear that this product is not very economical. Normally, I add 2 teaspoons of hot chocolate mix to a glass, but here I need almost 5 teaspoons for a 250ml glass. And it's not even guaranteed to taste good. In any case, the price is the same, but the taste just isn't there.
Conclusion
Good, attractive packagingInstant brewingCons
Not very economicalWeak flavor expressionLacking in caloriesSo, you can drink it, but there are much better options out there, so I wouldn't recommend purchasing Skrepsi's hot chocolate mix and I won't be buying it again!
Thanks for sticking with me until the end!
