Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses

These classic shades have been a staple for years, and it's easy to see why - they offer top-notch protection from the sun, plus a durable build quality that'll withstand daily wear. I've worn them for a week and they're still looking great. And let's be real, they're just plain cool. With their iconic design, they're a great value for money. You can wear them on a hike or just running errands, and they'll keep your eyes protected from the sun's harsh rays.

My Disappointing Experience with Ray Ban Aviators

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've had these Ray Ban Aviators for a while now, and I gotta say, they've been a total letdown. The biggest issue is how the sun keeps hitting my eyes from above and the sides. I've tried adjusting them, but it's just not working out. The frames are supposed to be classic and timeless, but for me, they're just a pain to wear. I've had better experiences with other sunglasses, even ones that were way cheaper. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but these Aviators just didn't deliver. The sun glare is a major problem, and the frames are a bit too heavy for my taste. I've tried to give them a chance, but I just can't get used to them. I'm really disappointed in my purchase, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Hello everyone!
I got these Ray Ban Aviators as a gift a few years ago, but I have no idea how much I paid for them or where I bought them - I even asked, but I never got a response.
Unpacking
Ray Ban's packaging is super minimalist - a simple grey box with the brand logo and a label.
The sunglasses come in a brown case with a printed logo and a button with the brand's logo.
The package includes a soft cloth for cleaning the lenses, also with the logo.
There's also a little booklet showcasing different Ray Ban models.
And, of course, an instruction manual in multiple languages, including Russian. I was surprised to read that the lenses need to be cleaned with regular soap.
AuthenticitySpotting a fake Ray Ban can be tough, but there are some giveaways. On the right lens, at the top right, it says 'Ray Bun'. And on the left lens, there's a laser-engraved 'RB' - a feature not many fakes have.
The left arm has a serial number and model number - these should match the ones on your lenses:
RB 3025 Aviator Large Metal - the model number and series name of the sunglasses;9020/C4 - the frame color code/lens color code;58²14 - the lens width/nose bridge width (mm);135 - the temple length (mm);3N - the level of tinting.
And on the right temple, it's written that it's made in Italy.
Some Aviators also have a small inscription on the bottom of the temple between the lenses, but not all of them have it. Apparently, the company used to engrave this information, but due to the high number of counterfeit products, they removed it and started engraving a simple RB logo under the nose pads instead - that's much harder to counterfeit.Design
The Ray Ban Aviators look amazing, especially with the gradient effect. People can't even see my eyes when I wear them, and I love that! They're more likely to see their own reflections in the lenses.
The Aviator model is beautiful and versatile, suitable for many people.
Comfort
I've noticed that the temples seem a bit too long for me, and the surface is too smooth. The shape of the temples might not be ideal either, because the sunglasses keep slipping down my nose, and I have to adjust them frequently. Even my husband, who has a bigger head and a wider face, experienced the same issue.
Effectiveness
These sunglasses are designed for sun protection, and they do their job well. The Aviator model has a straight shape, and there's a lot of space at the top for sunlight to enter the eyes.
I have sensitive eyes, and during the winter, it's not a big deal. However, in the summer, even when the sun is behind the clouds, the light can be unbearable. These sunglasses save me from that discomfort.
One thing I've found is that even with these sunglasses on, I still feel like my eyes are squinting a bit when it's really bright outside. I've read that polarized lenses can help with that, but these aren't that kind of lens.
They look super stylish and come in some really cool colors; They do protect my eyes from the pain of the sun.Cons:
They keep slipping down my nose;Sunlight still gets in from the top and the sides; They don't completely block out the glare.Verdict
To be honest, I think this model is more about looking cool than actually being functional. Or maybe it's just not my style. I'm really not sure what to rate these - a 3 out of 5 feels about right. I've learned my lesson again that just because something's a brand name doesn't mean it's automatically great.

Honestly, I don't think they're worth the price. I've had better experiences with other sunglasses, and they were way cheaper.

Do the Ray Ban Aviators provide good protection from the sun?

The lenses do provide good protection from the sun, but the frames are a bit too big, which makes them uncomfortable to wear.

Can I return the Ray Ban Aviators if I'm not satisfied?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I didn't buy them from a store, so I'm not sure if I can return them. But if you're not satisfied, I'd recommend reaching out to the seller or Ray Ban directly.

Are the Ray Ban Aviators easy to clean?

Yeah, they are. The soft cloth that comes with them is really good at cleaning the lenses. Just be careful not to scratch them.

Do the Ray Ban Aviators come with a warranty?

I'm not sure, to be honest. I didn't get a warranty with mine, but I'm sure Ray Ban offers one with their products.
