Hello there, lovely readers!
I'm a total makeup junkie. I get ready every day, and I've been obsessed with makeup since I was a teenager!
Before I turned 30, I used to buy all sorts of cosmetics without a second thought. But as I got older, I started to care more about my health and switched to natural makeup.
Check out what's inside my makeup bag ⬇️
Every single product is natural and has a great formula. Almost everything is from the PuriBio brand, except for a few exceptions – like this amazing natural tint balm from Botavikos and a natural Indian eyeliner.
But enough about those. Let's talk about my favorite cream.
Here's the basics.
Name – Tonal BB Cream
Series - Sublime
Brand - PuroBio
A quick word about this brand ⬇️
PuroBio Cosmetics is a natural makeup brand from the south of Italy, specifically from the charming region of Apulia. Their products contain oils, plant waxes, and mineral pigments that are perfect for people with sensitive skin.
Tone of the cream - number 01
Volume – 30 ml.
Where I bought it : I ordered it from the OZON marketplace.
I've found it way easier to buy PuroBio cosmetics online from marketplaces rather than in-store at a physical cosmetics shop. At least, that's my experience.
The cream's price at the time of purchase was 1.171 ruble.
I've attached the receipt.
The cream comes sealed in a standard transparent pouch.
The tub for this BB cream is the standard type, just like most other foundation creams.
The color is a bright reddish-brown with black elements.
This is the new design.
Before, the tub was white.
Honestly, I don't really care about the tub's design... as long as the contents are good and suitable for my skin!
Since this is an international cosmetics product, all the labels on the tub are in a foreign language. But to make things clearer for consumers, the importer has stuck a label with a Russian translation.
I'm duplicating the product description from the manufacturer below.
I've been using this BB cream to even out my skin tone, smooth out pores, and cover up imperfections. It's got that second-skin effect that's perfect for everyday wear and quick, easy makeup. The semi-matte finish is gorgeous.
It's suitable for all skin types, thanks to its 20% organic aloe vera and plant-derived squalane that blend seamlessly into the skin. Plus, its waterproof formula thanks to the 'water-in-oil' technology is a major plus.
No comedogenic ingredients in sight.
And I love that the packaging is 50% recycled plastic.
It sounds like a whole lot of promise, but that's exactly what I'm looking for.
What really caught my eye was the ingredient list.
I get it, it's all organic and natural, but I still wanted to take a closer look!
Ingredients
Aqua (water), aloe barbadensis leaf juice, c13-15 alkane, c15-19 alkane, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, glycerin, squalane, silica, polyglyceryl-6 oleate, distarch phosphate, dicaprylyl ether, jojoba esters, glyceryl behenate, trihydroxystearin, sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed wax, cetyl alcohol, potassium cetyl phosphate, xanthan gum, propanediol, acacia decurrens flower wax, polyglycerin-3, lecithin, lactic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, dipotassium phosphate, gluconic acid, tocopherol, ascorbyl palmitate, alcohol, sodium hydroxide, sodium gluconate, benzyl alcohol, sodium dehydroacetate +/-: ci 77891 (titanium dioxide), ci 77492 (iron oxide), ci 77491 (iron oxide), ci 77499 (iron oxide). Organic ingredients.
Needless to say, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the ingredient list, so I'm off to consult the EcoGlow website for some guidance.
I have to say, this is a real treat to look at!
This isn't just a product, it's a total skin saver for me!
I'm absolutely loving it! I'm so happy with the results!
Under the lid, there's a special seal to prevent the first opening from exposing the cream to air.
The dispenser is super simple - it's just a hole that lets the cream flow out.
Texture and Feel
Let's talk about the texture and feel of this cream.
I'd bet my money on it - this is a VV cream.
To me, this is a classic foundation cream.
The consistency is just like a regular cream.
It's not too runny, but not too thick either.
This natural cream has a softer, more velvety texture than a foundation cream with a strong chemical formula.
PuroBio's consistency is lighter and more airy.
The cream absorbs quickly and doesn't clog my pores.
This cream reminds me of my best friend's favorite cream-powder (Pupa Extime Matte) - it's got that same magical texture that's hard to put into words.
When I apply it to my skin, it feels like silk. This cream does the same thing, and I'm absolutely obsessed with that feature! My skin looks photo-shopped.
The scent is really light and powdery.
How I apply this cream?
I've tried applying it with my fingers, a sponge, and even a damp brush. But I've come to the conclusion that fingers are the way to go.
I take a small amount of cream on my index finger and start massaging it into my skin.
I don't rush it – I make sure to spread it evenly.
One of the best things about this cream is that it's buildable, and it doesn't cake or slide off!
My mood can change, and sometimes I go for a natural, no-makeup look, using just a tiny bit of cream to even out my skin tone.
Other times, I'm going for a full-glam look and apply two layers of cream.
Result
Here's what my skin looks like with the PuroBio toner cream:
The first thing you notice is how even my skin tone is. It looks super natural, and the best part is that the cream doesn't leave any residue or greasiness!
I'm absolutely loving this effect!
I'm really happy with how well I matched the shade - it's almost indistinguishable from my skin tone.
Of course, there is a bit of a transition zone on my neck, but I was able to touch it up with some powder from this brand.
This cream does an amazing job of covering up everything it's supposed to!
For example, during the summer my nose gets a bit sun-kissed, and this cream does a great job of hiding it.
I also have some acne scars from my teenage years, and this cream makes them almost invisible.
It even covers up redness on my skin!
This cream doesn't feel heavy or cakey on my face - I don't even notice it's there.
I wear it all day, from morning till night, and I still feel like my skin is breathing and my pores aren't clogged.
It didn't cause any negative reactions like acne, itchiness, redness, or allergic reactions on my skin.
Unfortunately, my skin is prone to comedones.
It also doesn't dry out or pull my skin tight.
I actually feel like my skin has improved since using this cream - it's like a treatment for my skin.
Longevity
I've used other natural foundation creams in the past, and they all had terrible longevity - they'd last less than half a day.
I was expecting this cream to be a game-changer in terms of longevity.
But it turns out my expectations were wrong.
I apply it in the morning and it looks great all day - no touch-ups needed!
I've been using this moisturizer to walk on the beach, head to work, and run errands - it's my go-to.
SPF
This moisturizer has SPF protection, but don't expect it to be super powerful - it's only SPF 10, after all. Still, it gets the job done.
It's also surprisingly resilient to the harsh weather on Kamchatka - I've used it in both winter and summer, and it's still going strong.
How does it wash off?
It's quick and easy to remove - I just use a natural face wash and it's gone. I don't need to use a micellar water or makeup remover.
I'll give a shout-out to another plus: this moisturizer doesn't stain my jackets or shirts - that's a rare feat for a foundation product.
What type of skin is this for?
This moisturizer is designed for all skin types except dry skin - I've got a combination skin type and it works perfectly for me. I do think it might accentuate flakiness, though.
I've been using it without any issues so far.
Do I need powder?
The best part about this moisturizer is that it doesn't really need powder - I usually just use it on its own. Although I do have a powder in my makeup bag and I love it.
Expiration date
Since this cream is natural, keep in mind that it has a relatively short shelf life.
Value for money
I'd say it's pretty economical.
