We went to a nearby salon to get more information and see if it was something we should do. The technician seemed pretty experienced, and she explained everything to us. We decided to go ahead with it.

Before the piercing, she gave me a quick rundown on how to care for the ears: spray some miramistin in front and back, and gently rotate the earrings. She also told me I could apply some lemovorin at night to help with the healing process.

The piercing gun was a bit weird-looking, like a stapler, and I later looked it up online – it's a piercing gun, of course! The earrings were tiny, and she showed them to me briefly to reassure me they were sterile.

I drew a small dot on the earlobe with a white gel pen to mark the spot. After the first piercing, my kid started crying, but she didn't try to pull away. I held her on my lap, wrapping my arms and legs around her (that's what the technician recommended). The second ear was a bit tougher, but it was over quickly.

We paid 1,050 rubles at the counter, and when we got home, the earrings looked amazing, sparkling with blue highlights...

As soon as we got home, I sprayed some miramistin on the earrings. I couldn't even touch them with a cotton swab, let alone get close with my bare hands – if I'd had the solution in a bottle, I wouldn't have been able to handle it.

I was a bit worried when my daughter started playing with her earrings in the evening, but I guess it's not uncommon for kids to be curious about their new accessories. She'd get upset and cry when I told her not to, but I tried to be patient.

I decided to skip the usual routine that day.

Honestly, I was a bit hesitant to clean the earrings myself, they're so tiny and delicate. I was afraid of hurting her or causing any discomfort. But I imagined the worst-case scenario – the earring getting stuck in her ear – and decided to take a chance. We cleaned the earring and my hands 10 times, this time on dry land. My husband held the baby's head in place, and I carefully inserted the earring. The hole was visible, and I managed to get it in the front part of the earlobe, but it wouldn't budge from the back. I gently turned the earlobe to get a better look, and the baby remained calm. Finally, I managed to get it in, but not without some difficulty. The earring was a bit too far in, and it was tight, leaving a mark on the earlobe and a small gap at the back of the earring. It was a close call.

I tried to push it back - no way, it's super secure. Guess I'll just have to wait till bedtime.

When my daughter fell asleep, I snuck in and grabbed the flower at the front with one hand, and the back with the other. Oh my god, it worked! By morning, the ear was back to normal, no redness or anything.

Five days into the piercing, my daughter lost one of the studs. After a bath that day, we put in gold studs with an English lock.

They were a bit tricky to insert, the hole from the gun was really thin. Two weeks later, the right ear started to get infected. It got all red and swollen

That night, we went to the doctor, she took a look and said to apply compresses with lemongrass oil under a band-aid and not to wear the stud. I thought, sure, it'll heal up... But that night, our neighbor's kids were all playing together on the playground and they all had pierced ears, so they recommended wearing the stud, saying it's not a cyst, just a plain old stud.That night in the bathroom, I massaged her earlobe, cleaned the remaining stud with some spirits, dipped it in lemongrass oil, and inserted it back into her ear. The hole was already starting to close after one day, I barely managed to get it in. My daughter cried a bit and then calmed down. To finish it off, I applied some miramistin and when she was asleep, I treated it with baneocin.

By morning, the redness was gone and we continued to apply miramistin. For a while, my daughter walked around with two different studs.

A bit later, I even bought those gun studs (if you're interested, I got them here on the web).

I was really drawn to these earrings because they're cute and affordable, but the hypoallergenic alloy didn't quite live up to my expectations - the clasp was finicky to close and the backs were a bit tight to put on.

After wearing them for a bit, one of the clasps actually came loose, which was a bit of a bummer.

I then bought some ArtSilver earrings with a French clasp from the West, and I have to say, they were a lot easier to put in - the backs were almost flat, making them a breeze to insert. They're a classic style, but unfortunately, they were a bit too big for my smaller earlobe.

I was really impressed with how easily they rotated and how good the ventilation was. After two weeks of wearing them, they did start to darken a bit on the back, but I was able to easily clean them with some toothpaste.

Not long after, I bought a smaller pair of similar earrings, but with a curved post, which made them a bit harder to put on.

And everything would have been fine, I'd have worn them and enjoyed them, but still, there was a bit of redness behind my ears. So, I thought about it for a bit and bought some gold apple earrings from MUY (my review of them is here).

They're incredibly beautiful, but they also caught on a leaf from time to time. That's just not convenient, so we enjoyed their beauty and took them off. And then we went back to our little earrings with the English lock. That was it, from that moment on, we forgot about our ears.

It's been a year now, and everything has healed. We've changed earrings to mix things up a bit. By the way, they have leaves, but they don't catch on anything.
