Hello!
I'm excited to share my thoughts on my cat's litter, which I absolutely love. We used to get the same brand, but with a fragrance add-on - Pi-Pi-Bent Sensation Fresh Cat Litter. It was okay, I thought, but the smell became overpowering and even unpleasant after a while.
However, I had gotten used to it and was buying the same one for months. Last month, I accidentally ordered the classic version instead, which comes without any fragrance. That's what I want to share with you today - Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter.

Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat LitterDescription:
I've tried a few different clumping cat litters, and this one from Pi-Pi-Bent is a solid choice. It's suitable for cats of all breeds and does a great job of neutralizing odors without leaving any lingering scents. My cat isn't picky, but I've heard some cats can be finicky about their litter. Here's what the manufacturer has to say about their product:
"This natural clumping cat litter is made from bentonite clay and is an eco-friendly option for cat owners. Pi-Pi-Bent Classic allows your cat to feel closer to nature. Most animals take to the litter box right away, and it's safe for both humans and animals in case of accidental ingestion. Pi-Pi-Bent Classic absorbs a lot of moisture, forming solid clumps. Throughout its use, Pi-Pi-Bent Classic effectively neutralizes unpleasant smells and aromas."
The Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Cat Litter, which clumps, looked just as good as any other litter I've seen.

Packaging is the same as every other litter I've tried, with a pretty standard plastic bag and a handle to carry it home. There's also a lot of info on the package, including the manufacturer's details, the ingredients, usage recommendations, and the date it was released. Oh, and a warning not to flush it down the toilet. The design is pretty standard, with a burgundy-red color scheme and a cute British cat on the front.

First off, let's talk about packaging options - there are two sizes available: 5 liters and 10 liters. We've got the bigger one, which is 10 liters. According to the manufacturer, the 5-liter option should last a month, while the 10-liter one will last two months. I also mentioned earlier that there are two scented options available:
Classic (our unfragranced option)Provence Herbs;Fresh Sensation.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat LitterTexture is right on point for a clumping litter - it's got a mix of medium and fine-grained pebbles with some brown specks throughout. Everything's evenly distributed in the litter box. When you open it up and pour some out, it does make a bit of a mess. Color-wise, it's mostly a greyish color with some brown added in. Each pebble is pretty uniform in color, whether it's grey or brown.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat LitterOdor control is amazing! I'm not even kidding, I don't notice any smell at all, which is a huge plus in my book.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat LitterUsing it: make sure to use the clumping litter in a litter box with high sides and a scoop specifically designed for this type of litter. The litter needs to be at least 5 cm deep to ensure it distributes evenly and your cat can comfortably dig in. Plus, it helps prevent clumps from forming, which I've noticed makes a big difference.
After I've seen that the animal's done its business, it's a breeze to scoop out the litter and toss it in the trash or a special bag. Don't even think about flushing it down the toilet, because it'll clog you up for sure. Every month or so, the litter box needs a good cleaning with specialized cleaners or detergents, and some disinfecting agents. I take out the leftover litter, give it a good scrub, dry it with a towel, and then refill it with fresh litter.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping LitterMy takeaways.
I've got to say, the odor-controlling aspect of this litter has its downsides. As the manufacturer claims, it shouldn't stick to your cat's paws. But, unfortunately, that's not the case! After my cat uses the litter box, it leaves a trail of litter everywhere – in the litter box, nearby, even in the hallway. It's super annoying.
The downsides of this litter are starting to add up, and one thing that's really getting to me is how it kicks up dust when I'm pouring it into the litter box. It's not exactly pleasant, and I find myself trying to avoid breathing it in. Another issue I'm having is that the litter sticks to the scoop when I'm cleaning it out. If I don't clean the litter box right after my cat does its business, the scoop ends up being a mess – the litter spreads out like plasticine and sticks to it.
Then I have to scrub the scoop clean and remove the stuck litter, which is a real pain. What's worse, when I'm scooping out tiny bits of litter, I have to pick them out by hand because they just fall through the holes in the scoop.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Litter, clumpingPi-Pi-Bent Classic Litter, clumpingI've also noticed that the litter sticks to the bottom of the litter box, which makes it a real pain to clean out. Sometimes it's like trying to scrape off dried-on glue – it's a real challenge to get it all out.
I have to say, the odor control on Pi-Pi-Bent Classic, the clumping cat litter, is pretty good. I barely smell the litter box at all, but I wouldn't say it's a complete solution.
Another thing that's not great is the lack of value for money. Even though the manufacturer claims it can last for two months with 10 liters, I've found that it only lasts for a month or, at best, 1.5 months with just one cat and a standard litter box. Trying to stretch it out for two months is a real challenge.
And to make matters worse, it's not cheap. Even among similar cat litters, it's on the pricier side, especially considering all the drawbacks I've mentioned. To make things worse, the price keeps going up.
The only reason I'm still using it is that my cat likes it. However, I'm not a fan of how it performs, and I'm already thinking about alternatives. Maybe I'll go back to using wood pellets or try something different.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping Cat Litter One of the things I like about this cat litter is how easy it is to scoop the clumps when my cat does its business. I also appreciate being able to see how often my cat is using the litter box, which is a big deal for me since my cat has a medical condition. My vet told me to keep an eye on how frequently and thoroughly my cat is using the litter box, as it can be a sign of underlying health issues.
With this litter, I can always tell how often my cat has used the litter box, which is a big help. I try to clean the litter box every time my cat uses it, or a bit later if I'm not home. That way, I can keep track of how often my cat is using the litter box, which is harder to do with other types of litter.
Another nice bonus is that this litter helps to reduce the smell after my cat does its business. It's not a perfect solution, but it's definitely an improvement over not having anything at all.
My cat took to this litter right away, and that's the main reason I've been buying it for almost a year now. What's amazing is that it doesn't matter whether the litter has a scent or not - my cat is happy with it either way. I think the real winner here is the fact that you can build up the litter in big 5cm layers, and that's exactly what my cat loves.
This makes it super easy to cover up any messes and create a comfortable environment for my cat. Plus, it's great that you can dig a little hole before using the litter box - it's just one less thing to worry about. For my cat, this litter is a total delight. As for me, I'm still undecided about whether I'll be buying it again.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping LitterPi-Pi-Bent Classic Clumping LitterSo, for now, I'm sticking with this litter, but I'm definitely on the lookout for something better. There are some major drawbacks, but for my cat, it's still the best option. I'll keep experimenting and see what works best for him.
Pi-Pi-Bent Classic, clumping litter Pi-Pi-Bent Classic, clumping litter The Verdict.
I've got the clumping litter from Pi-Pi-Bent in the Classic range, and it comes in three varieties, including this one without fragrance and a nice color to the granules. My cat loves it, and it's dense and high-quality, so it clumps up quickly and partially neutralizes the smell.
On the downside, I've got a few issues: the litter sticks to the litter box and scoop, it can't be flushed down the toilet, and it's not very economical - it gets everywhere and makes a mess. Plus, it's pretty pricey and the cost keeps going up.
I'd recommend it, but with caution, as I can only give it 3 stars.
