My Unfortunate Experience with Bowl Wow Cat Food

I'm a seasoned cat mom with four furry kids, and the oldest one is 12 years old. My oldest cat is super picky about food and has some digestive issues - she gets nauseous after meals, and her test results are always normal, but our vet thinks it's probably just her long hair, which is super frustrating for me...

I'm always on the lookout for the best food for my kitties, so when I saw an ad for this food from a popular blogger, I rushed to check out the ingredients and reviews. I was really pleased with what I saw, so I ordered it right away. So, the packaging comes in 1.5 kg and 4 kg sizes.

Bowl Wow Cat Food with Chicken and Pumpkin We switched to Bowl Wow with chicken and pumpkin from Zillii for our sterilized cat, and to be honest, there were no major issues, but our cat Praxy has been eating it with some reluctance lately. The first time we ordered a 1.5 kg pack, and to our surprise, Praxy loved it and ate it without any complaints. After a month, everything was fine - her overall health, coat, stool, vomiting, and so on, were all normal, and I ordered a 4 kg pack... And that's when the first red flag went up - the cat flat-out refused to eat the new pack. She'd eat the leftovers from the old pack without any issues, but the new one was a hard no. The food did look a bit fattier and smelled stronger than the previous batch, but we didn't think much of it at the time. Not understanding what was going on, I chalked it up to different batches and ordered another 1.5 kg pack from the same supplier as the first time, but the cat still refused to eat it... categorically! And that's when we made a huge mistake - my younger cat loves to get into trouble and has a thing for other cats' food, and she started eating this stuff.

My cat's experience:) At first, we introduced it to Masha as a treat, and then gradually she transitioned to it and started eating this food completely, I mean, not to waste 5.5 kg. We thought we were right, but we were wrong... About a month later, Masha started feeling unwell. Her fur lost its shine, the cat became lethargic, refused to eat and drink... We rushed to the vet, got the tests, ultrasound. As a result, it turned out to be gastritis and severely elevated liver enzymes, so we had to do IV drips and conduct a long-term treatment immediately.

Masha on treatment I couldn't blame anything else but the food for her condition, unfortunately. We didn't change anything else in her diet and life... I don't know what changed in the food, maybe it's the new formula or something, but the older cat felt it, and the younger one, not as picky, didn't... What to do with the remaining 4.5 kg of food, I have no idea, as I'm even hesitant to donate it to a shelter for fear of harming already unhealthy animals. I wouldn't recommend the food, unfortunately, as it didn't suit my girls at all. Yes, it has a great premium composition, but I wouldn't risk my pets' health by recommending it.
