We were looking for a secluded getaway, and Ocean Breeze Villa delivered. Located in a quiet suburb of Galle, it's just a 10-minute bus ride from the central bus station - and the ocean is right on your doorstep.

The beach is separated from the street and main road by dense guesthouse development, so we only saw a few locals during our week-long stay. The rest of the time, we had the beach almost to ourselves.

The owners, Susanta and his wife, are your go-to guys for any questions or concerns. Susanta's not pushy with sales, and his wife cooks up massive, varied breakfasts. There's also a night guard on duty.

We didn't need to venture far for entertainment - the nearby restaurant serves fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices. We tried the lobsters, and at around 3000 rupees for two medium-sized ones, it was a steal. Prices vary greatly depending on the region, and we saw a huge difference during our coastal road trip.
