I've used this Nissan Ns-2 transmission oil for my variator, and I'm really impressed. It's specifically designed for this type of use, with a 5-liter capacity and part number KE90999945. What I like most is that it's a reliable choice for keeping my Nissan running smoothly, and it's a great value for money. I've been using it for a while now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best transmission oils out there.

A Real-Life Test of the Ns-2 Trans Fluid: 100k Miles and Still Going Strong
We've had a wild ride with our Nissan Xtrail t31, and it's a story worth sharing. It all started three years ago when my husband and I bought the car. We took it for a spin, but since it wasn't brand new, we had to change the oil, including the variator, right away. We used the same oil as mentioned in the review. Then, we needed some cash to buy a private house, so we sold our trusty vehicle. And guess what? Three years later, this car came back to us.
The girl who drove our car didn't change the oil at all, except for the engine. We figured this out when we decided to replace the fluid in the differential and rear gear. So, it turned out that the person drove the car for around 80,000 km without changing the variator oil.
After our previous two vehicles, we decided to take a closer look at the transmission oil. We removed the plug, drained it, and were shocked. The color was black. Then, we took out the oil cooler filter and were just as surprised. I do need to mention that we didn't find any metal particles on the drain pan magnets or the two filters.
Now, let's talk about the product itself. First of all, the price. The sellers are asking for around 13,000 rubles for the original. I think that's way too expensive. If we take two 5-liter canisters, the price for 10 liters of original Nissan CVT transmission oil would be a whopping 26,000 rubles. That's insane. Two replacements would cost as much as one CVT. So, of course, we bought the analog, not the original.
The following article numbers are mentioned on some websites:
999MP-NS200P – less than 1L (0.946 g);KLE52-00004 (including the EU suffix) – 4L;KE909-99945R – 5L;KLE52-00002 – 20L.Even though we bought this product from a well-known auto store and it has the article number from the table above, I'm pretty sure it's not the original.
Now, let's talk about the plastic canister and the labels. They're stuck on just fine, and the spout is really well-made. Plus, the date doesn't wear off when you touch it. And the text on the label is printed clearly. But here's the thing: if you scan the QR code with your phone, you won't end up on Nissan's website. Instead, you'll get redirected to a different site. On the bright side, it won't show you an error message if you scan the code incorrectly.
By the way, the spout is designed in such a way that it prevents the green liquid from spilling out. So, it's really easy to pour transmission fluid into the variator.
And on the back label, there's some information. Although, it's not in Russian.
But if you remove the top label, you'll find the info in Russian. It says that this transmission fluid can be used in many different gearboxes. And I can confirm that we only use it in the variator.
One more thing I noticed is that the canister looks smaller than I expected. But we checked it out, and it really does hold 5 liters. We measured the level before and after adding some fluid, and it matched perfectly. So, I think the level indicator is pretty accurate.
And finally, the oil - it's green in color. The structure is super thin, freezes at -50 °C. I'd say it smells pretty nice, reminds me of petroleum products. It feels oily, but not as thick as the stuff you put in your engine.
So, what are the results? I've noticed that even after a partial transmission fluid change, my CVT is working better. Of course, no miracles happen, but in the cold, it takes a bit longer to drop down to lower gears. I think this indicates that the old fluid was thicker, took longer to warm up. As a result, I've seen a slight decrease in fuel consumption, but the car's dynamics have improved.
I've heard people trash CVTs, saying they're prone to failure and all that. But we've had a good experience with ours. I know a guy who's clocked over 400,000 km on his CVT-equipped car. It all comes down to regular maintenance - changing the filters and fluid on a regular basis. Then, your car will last you a long time.
We've put this Nissan transmission fluid to the test with two cars in our fleet, and it's held up well. I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable transmission fluid. Just make sure to check the article number and the price before making a purchase.
Our local car wash, which sometimes really lets us down with their service, but there are exceptions.
