I'm a sucker for all the cool hair styling tools out there. Every time I browse, my eyes widen at the sheer number of options! This time, I decided to give the Luni automatic hair straightener a try, which has been making waves on social media.

First Impressions

The straightener came in a minimalist matte box with a soothing pastel grey color. I love that it's not cluttered with loud headlines, excessive text, or countless hairstyle examples!

Inside the box, I found a user manual.

There were three clips included.

They're a bit flimsy, but I think they'll last for a few uses. I've since ordered metal clips from the same seller, and they work great without breaking.I also got a comb, which I only use for smooth hairstyles. For all other styles, I prefer my Janeke 1830 comb.

The straightener itself is a lovely shade of pink - very feminine!

To be honest, from the photos, I thought the straightener would be super lightweight, but that's not the case. My old Babyliss straightener was much lighter, though.

The design is top-notch, and I think it's great that brands are really focusing on this lately. First impressions are everything, right?

The power button is located at the bottom and doubles as a temperature switch. It's a pretty handy feature.

I only ended up using two of the three modes - the first two just didn't work for my natural hair, which tends to drop its style quickly.

The barrel spins both ways, which is nice.

The coating is supposedly ceramic, which is a nice touch.

The cord is swiveling, which is just fantastic. I'm surprised some manufacturers of similar products tend to overlook this important detail.

My favorite part about this straightener is how easy it is to use. I timed myself as soon as I got into the shower, and I managed to section my hair into two layers, curl 1 and 2 layers, and then section out my curls.

I think this is a great result, and if I were to use it more often, I'm sure I could get it to last up to 10 minutes.

My hair feels nice to the touch, and there was no smoke during the curling process.

I love trying out different hairstyles, but I try to limit myself to 1-2 times a month. Sometimes I even scold myself for it, because if you want it, you have to do it!

I have to admit, getting perfect results without some practice is tough, and with this straightener, it's definitely not happening. Check out the amazing look I managed to achieve - I spent the whole day walking around and admiring my reflection!

This straightener has given me a new dose of inspiration to style my hair with a luxurious look more often, about 1-2 times a month.

The results from using the Luni straightener are way better than what I get from using a regular straightener. After using it, I look like a sheep - there's hardly any volume left, and my hair just lies flat, but then I get this amazing voluminous wave, natural shine, and gorgeous bouncy curls!

However, all this magic didn't last long, and my hair turned into a frizzy mess after just 8 hours, but I do want to note that I've never been able to style my hair in dry weather, since we've had an abnormally wet winter, so the humidity is through the roof.

I highly recommend this pink cutie! It worked perfectly for my long hair, and I think it'll be even better and faster for shorter hair.
