I'm super excited to share with you our final stop on our Sunday adventure in the beautiful Bashkortostan region - the Kuk-Karauk waterfall.

I'd heard about this waterfall for a long time and was really eager to visit it. Everyone who's been there has their own description - it's a small stream flowing merrily over the rocks, a powerful cascade, and the sound of it is almost deafening before you even see it.

From my review, you'll learn what the waterfall looks like in early June.

Getting There

The Kuk-Karauk waterfall is located in the I shim baisky district of Bashkortostan. I'm still amazed by how beautiful this region is - from waterfalls to caves, mountains, and untouched rocks.

The closest settlement to the waterfall is the village of Makarovo, but you still need to drive 7 km along the old Beloretsk road. The road after the village is pretty rough.

It looks like the photo below, but it gets worse the further you go. If you have a low-clearance vehicle, it's best to avoid it - you might end up with a flat tire.

On the left bank of the river, you can see the ruins of an old stone bridge built during the reign of Empress Catherine II.

When I heard about the bridge, I really wanted to see it. But I'm not sure if the stone ruins in the photo below are actually the bridge. Can anyone help me out?

I'm glad I finally got to see this waterfall. I've been wanting to visit it for three years now. The interesting thing is that the things that are close to us, we often put off until later, while the things that are far away, we rush to see as soon as possible.

I really enjoyed this place, and it was nice to sit on the rocks near the waterfall and listen to the soothing sound of the water. It was especially nice to dip my tired feet in the water at the end of the day.

So, if you're planning to visit this place, make sure to bring some water, a hat, and a snack. And don't forget your camera or phone to capture the beauty of the Kuk-kara waterfall. Even though I've already been here, I'd love to come back in the spring to experience the full force of the waterfall.
