Hello fellow travelers!
I'm stoked you ended up here.
I'm always on the lookout for a great hotel in Moscow, and I've got to say, Izmailovo Alpha has consistently delivered.
Izmailovo Alpha 4*, Russia, Moscow
I've been visiting Moscow for work, to hang out with friends, and to visit family for years now.
But I've always struggled with finding a hotel that's convenient, comfortable, and affordable.
That's why I'm so glad I stumbled upon Izmailovo Alpha.
The Alpha building is the closest to the metro and shops, but it's a bit further from the Kremlin than the other buildings.
Let's get down to the nitty-gritty.
The room was spotless, spacious, and bright – exactly what I need after a long day of exploring the city.
The windows were draft-free, even on chilly days.
The pillows were seriously the best I've ever had in a hotel – and that's saying something.
There's a small tea station with a clean kettle – no limescale in sight.
The floor had a nice carpet – the color scheme was great, and it hid dirt and stains well.
The bathroom was a bit dimly lit, but that's a minor quibble.
Mini toothbrushes and toothpaste were provided – a nice touch.
That way, you don't have to bring anything.
We had a shower, not a cabin – which was a nice surprise.
I have to say, the last option I chose wasn't the most ideal, but it didn't bother me since we got checked in way ahead of schedule.
Towels were plentiful, clean, and fluffy – exactly what you want after a long day.
Branded towels with embroidery were a nice touch – it's the little things that count.
I was stoked to find bathrobes in the room – and the sizes were interesting, to say the least.
One was around 50, and the other was 60.
Slippers were also provided – a nice bonus.
The special luggage stand in the room was a game-changer – no more bending down to put my luggage on the floor.
The room also had a massive dining table – perfect for enjoying breakfast or a quiet dinner.
And let's not forget the view from my room window – it was stunning.
This is my room, and I have to say, it's one of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in.
The lobby is huge – and I mean huge.
You can even grab a bite to eat without leaving the building – and the food is great.
I mostly ate in my room or at the chocolate shop.
I did try to grab breakfast on the day of my departure, but I was shocked to find not a single empty table – I waited for an hour for a table, and another hour for my order.
I barely had time to pack my stuff and get to the train station.
But that's not a complaint about the hotel – it's a testament to how popular it is.
In the lobby there are tons of mirrors and flowers – it's a bright and cheerful atmosphere.
One day, someone – I even thought it was a fellow guest – played the piano beautifully, which was actually right next to the chocolate machine.
And check out these awesome sofas and armchairs – they're perfect for lounging around in the evenings.
I loved sitting on them and chatting on the phone.
I was also won over by the bag shop – it was hard to resist buying all of them.
A bit of a downer was that many guests would sit in the lobby with their suitcases after lunch, sleep on the sofas, or put their kids to bed.
It looked like some kind of hostel or something.
And often there wasn't even a place to sit, although it wasn't a problem in the mornings and evenings.
I think it's because the guests who checked out at 12 were waiting for their trains or flights and then left for the train stations or airports later in the day, so there were always more spots available.
All in all, I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel.
Now, let me say a few words about the surroundings.
They're even better than the hotel itself.
There's a beautiful park with a pond just a two-minute walk away.
And of course, the beauty of the Izmailovo Kremlin.
You can walk around for hours – I never get tired of it.
In the center of the Kremlin, there's a small pond and a bench in a little gazebo – it's the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.
There's also a shopping center nearby and a metro station just across the street.
I'm not a fan of rushing around, I love to relax in my room, eat calmly, and not run around Moscow all day.
I want my room to be clean and cozy, and I want to be able to eat well in the hotel.
I want to be able to walk around in the evenings without having to go all the way to the center.
And that's exactly what I got here.
I'm thrilled with my stay at Izmailovo Alpha, and I'll definitely be back.
Thanks for reading.
Wishing you all the best.
