Bangkok Ocean World, Thailand

I recently visited Bangkok's Siam Ocean World and I'm still reeling from the experience. This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves marine life - you'll see a ton of different species up close and personal. The 5-story glass tunnel is a highlight, letting you walk through a shark and ray habitat. Interactive exhibits and a huge variety of sea creatures make this a top-notch aquarium. If you're in Bangkok, don't miss it!

I visited this aquarium and was blown away by the experience. The admission fee was totally worth it - I mean, I'm still not crying about it after visiting. The variety of marine life on display was incredible, with everything from colorful fish to majestic sharks. The exhibits were well-designed and easy to navigate, making it a great day out for families or anyone interested in marine biology. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer any questions you might have. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out - you won't regret it!

Hello everyone.
I've been wanting to share my review of the Oceanarium in Bangkok for ages. To be honest, I'm against circuses, zoos, aquariums, and other places where animals are confined. After visiting our local aquarium, I was in tears... Although most people seem to enjoy it and often go there. I'm definitely not going back.
The Oceanarium in Bangkok left a pleasant impression on me.
Walking around and looking at the aquariums, I didn't get the feeling that the animals were suffering. I know they're in captivity, but compared to what I've seen... those half-empty, tiny aquariums with dirty water and a couple of dead fish... or a small circular tank where a shark swims around in circles for its whole life... it's really depressing.
I don't remember the ticket price, as we visited the aquarium during a guided tour in Bangkok, where we also visited the BaiyokeSky revolving platform and the Siamese Niramit show - it was absolutely amazing! But unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures there. I hope to visit again someday.
At the entrance, we met a friendly shark.
And then, not-so-friendly)
Like any other large aquarium, there's a tunnel. I didn't take any great photos... there were too many people, so here's my attempt.
In the tunnel, it's really cool. Behind the glass walls, there's a huge space (or so it seems) because the fish swim so freely. We happened to visit when someone was snorkeling in the tunnel (we were told that for an extra fee, you can snorkel there too, but we didn't ask for details since we weren't planning to). But based on how they behaved underwater, I think they were just staff members messing with us...
It's not just tropical fish swimming in the tunnel, by the way. There are sharks and rays too.
Sharks are a recurring theme here. There's a huge aquarium with sharks swimming in it. There are also installations shaped like shark mouths.
There's also a fun bus at the exit where you can take a photo with a shark. I ended up looking really happy, but I didn't take a photo of the bus itself, so you won't see it here.
The Oceanarium has many halls:
Mostly fish, of course
Sea slugs. Cute little creatures.
To give you an idea, there aren't just a few sea slugs in one aquarium - there are plenty! And it's the same with all the other marine animals. I've got a ton of photos from this aquarium, mostly with our happy faces, of course. For this review, I tried to pick the best shots featuring the underwater creatures.
The jellyfish exhibit is a highlight. In the dark, with only the aquariums lit up, the jellyfish float around to the music. It's a mesmerizing sight. Too bad the photos didn't turn out too sharp.
Octopuses and crabs
This is some marine life I don't even remember what it is
Some ridiculously cute worms
Tropical forest with its inhabitants
There are aquariums where curious visitors can stick their hands in (thankfully, no one did that when I was there).
Some are completely behind glass.
There's also a hall with a massive aquarium that's several stories high, and benches in front of it where you can sit and take in the view.
Aside from the fish, there are other animals
Otters (I think that's what they are?) and penguins don't seem stressed or hungry. In our Vladivostok aquarium, the poor otter is spinning around the glass, waiting for people to feed it. These ones seem pretty chill. They've got plenty of space and food, I'm sure.
Piranhas
Everything is super clean and nice
Being in the aquarium is super enjoyable. The ventilation is great. Again, compared to Vladivostok... I almost choked on the heat and stench. I was really uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
I could spend hours in this Bangkok aquarium.
As you exit most Thai tourist spots, you'll find a souvenir shop waiting for you. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with them taking my photo at the entrance, then printing it on some mediocre-quality plate or magnet while I'm walking around. By the end of the trip, you've got a whole collection of them, like you need it, but hey, at least you've got a photo of yourself.
I highly recommend visiting, especially if you've never been to a place like this before. It's a total must-see. I'd only been to Vladivostok before, and my mom had been to New Zealand and Korea, where she said the aquariums were just as cool. She loved this one too.
