I've got a few favorite films that I love rewatching whenever I can, and this one's definitely on that list - I've seen it twice already, and I'm sure I'll be watching it again.

Alexey Pavlovich Sokolov (Konstantin Habensky) - the commander of the group of fire-fighting paratroopers of Avialesookhrana, who's still reeling from the recent loss of a team member on a mission. As a result, he's hesitant to take on a new, inexperienced team member.

Katya Sokolova (Stasia Miloslavskaya) - Alexey Sokolov's daughter, who works as a dispatcher for Avialesookhrana and is fed up with her father's overprotectiveness.

Roman Romanych Ilyin (Ivan Yankovskiy) - a new MChS Russia employee who's also seeing Katya Sokolova. He joined MChS to be closer to her.

Vladimir Ivanovich Gromov (Andrey Smolyakov) - the head of Avialesookhrana, and a close friend of Alexey Sokolov.

I've noticed that even the most skeptical people have their own superstitions and rituals.

The film is visually stunning, with many breathtaking scenes.

The pacing is so tight that there's not a single moment to catch your breath – you're on edge the entire time.

There are some particularly emotional scenes, like the goodbyes between mothers and children, that are shot in a way that's almost unbearable to watch.
