Disappointment with Farfor's Päpperoni Pizza

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was super stoked to try Farfor's Päpperoni pizza, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. The flavor had taken a serious hit, and the quality had taken a nosedive. The crust was lacking, and the toppings were sparse. I mean, I'm not a huge pepperoni pizza fan, but I've always had a soft spot for it. This one just didn't live up to my expectations. Despite its appetizing aroma, the taste was a major letdown. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pizza, and Farfor's Päpperoni just isn't it. The crust had a nice texture, but it was a bit too thick for my liking. The pepperoni slices were generously portioned, but they lacked that smoky flavor I'm looking for. The pizza had a nice balance of cheese and sauce, but it was a bit too sweet. The box was easy to open, but the plug didn't stick well the second time. The pizza was visually appealing, with a nice balance of colors and toppings. It's just a shame that the flavor and quality didn't quite match up.

Disappointment with Farfor's Päpperoni Pizza
Hello fellow foodies!
I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pizza, and my latest attempt was with Farfor's Päpperoni pizza. Let's just say it was a mixed bag.
We'll get to the rolls in our next reviews, but for now, let's dive into the pizza.
The name's inspired by the pepperoni sausage, a type of spicy salami. I'm a sucker for sausages and spicy food, so I was excited to try this one.
The pizza arrived in a sturdy cardboard box with a bright red color and a psychedelic design. I'm not a fan of the design, but I guess it's a nice touch.
The box isn't too tall, probably standard for pizzas and pastries. And, of course, there's a kind of plug, a seal of opening.
Pûlombirovka easily comes off, but it doesn't stick well the second time.
And here's our beauty. I must say, it's strange that the halves look different. And it's not like they're made of different toppings, it's just one.
But it's still beautiful, appetizing, and aromatic.
I've always had a soft spot for pepperoni pizza. It's a classic, like margherita. It's the kind of flavor that takes me back to my teenage years, when my friends and I would sneak out to the nearest pizzeria for a milkshake and a pie.
We ordered it so many times, and sometimes they'd even give it to us for free with a promo code. It was always a winner.
But this time around, I'm not so sure. Maybe it's the intermittent fasting, or maybe the chef change didn't work out, or maybe the quality just took a hit. Because, let's be real, it wasn't always like this. A year and a half ago, it was perfect, and now it's just a mess.
So, what didn't I like about it this time? Well, the aroma was amazing, all pepperoni-y. But the flavor? It was like the pepperoni was just missing. The mozzarella didn't even try to balance it out. It was just a plain, overly salty sauce. I mean, it felt like I was eating it straight from a jar. Even the crust was MIA. It was just a sad, salty paste that stung my tongue and throat. And don't even get me started on the lack of spice. It was like they forgot to add it altogether.
Now, the crust itself looked pretty great. It was thin in the middle, with these adorable little crusty edges. I'm not a fan of those, but they looked nice, I'll give 'em that.
The crust was dusted with some cornmeal, which helped it not stick to the pan while it was cooking. I do that sometimes, but not every time.
I have to say, Farfor pizzas are best devoured straight away. Once they've cooled down, they start to feel stale, and if you reheat them in the microwave, you have to eat them hot right away, or they'll become dry and rubbery. Reheating them just doesn't work after that.
Honestly, I'm not against getting another one with a discount code, but I wouldn't buy it again at full price. I couldn't finish the whole thing - I managed to eat half a slice and that was it.
The high price for this kind of deal is just not worth it. For 400 rubles, you can make two large pizzas on a square baking sheet, which is way more than this 25cm diameter pizza, and they'd be tastier, more filling, and with better aroma. The main ingredients would be sausage and cheese, not just plain pasta.
I'm taking off two stars for this experience and the frequent mistakes. The pizza itself was really tasty (would have been), but the kitchen just messed it up, like they hired someone off the street without any training.
Should I recommend it or not?
Honestly, I'm not sure anymore.
Remember, I used to recommend this place and their delivery service a year and a half ago, but now... I'm not even sure. One time it's great, another time it's not. If you order now, it's at your own risk. Our whole order was a disaster this time, but I'll write a separate review for the main part.
Naturally, I hope Farfor is better in your city than it is in mine now.
It used to be my go-to place.
