summarizeEditor's Summary

I'll be the first to admit, I'm not usually a fan of Korean cosmetics, but Erborian's Baby-Skin BB Cream really caught my eye. I picked up the 15ml Golden Apple shade for around 1500 rubles, and it's been a total game changer for my summer trip. This compact size is perfect for avoiding overpacking, and the formula is surprisingly good. I've tested it in different climate conditions, and I'm excited to share my honest thoughts on whether it's worth every penny.

Hello there!
I'm not a fan of Korean cosmetics, but they're the ones that are widely available and hassle-free these days. The Erborian BB-Creme AU 5-en-1 cream is developed by French labs and made in Korea. It's not a new product, but I finally got my hands on it a few months ago before my summer trip. I needed a compact size to avoid overpacking my suitcase, and the 15ml Golden Apple shade cost me around 1500 rubles. I tested this product in different climate conditions, and I'm ready to share my honest thoughts.
First, let's talk about the packaging.
The travel version comes in a compact box, which is fine by me.
The tube itself is small and lightweight.
The cap has the brand's logo engraved on it, which is a nice touch.
One thing I don't like is the small nozzle, which makes it hard to get the right amount out. I still can't get it to dispense the perfect amount, and it's either too little or too much. Now, let's talk about the texture and finish.
I was a bit surprised by the dense texture, but the cream itself doesn't cake on my skin. It's practically invisible to the naked eye, but I can feel the texture.
I have the shade 02, Nude, which is a medium-toned shade.
in natural lightHere's how it looks in different lighting conditions.
artificial lightIt spreads evenly without any fuss.
indoor lightingThe finish is natural and slightly velvety.
natural lightThe cream absorbs fully into my skin.
artificial lightHere's a shot from a different location.
natural lightThe scent is floral and pleasant to my nose. My skin is a bit of a challenge, with uneven tone, pores, fine lines, sagging, redness, and some discoloration. It's oily, too.
Skin ToneMasking is definitely a thing for me, and so is evening out my complexion. Effect
I went for a medium-toned shade, as I was planning to use it during the summer months. On my pale skin, it looked a bit darker, but once I got some sun, it turned out to be a nice, light bronze.
Skin with TonerDon't let the shade fool you. I'm trying to show how the toner sits on the skin and how it interacts with other products.
Toner + PowderIt blends well with both skincare and makeup products.
Toner + Powder + Blush + Highlighter + Bronzer + SculptorThe minor drawbacks are easily outweighed.
Before and AfterNow, let's see how it looks on tanned skin. It's definitely more noticeable that the shade is a bit too light for me.
tanningMy VerdictI have mixed feelings about the Erborian BB cream with the 'baby skin' effect. The texture is a bit too thick for my oily skin type, which I'm not a fan of with Korean BBs. I prefer a lightweight texture with a strong pigment. This consistency does a great job of covering up minor flaws, and it blends in seamlessly with my skin. The tone feels natural, not too obvious, but not invisible either. It's not a game-changer for my skin, but it does a solid job of covering up minor imperfections. The hero of this review is its ability to hide small flaws, but it struggles with more noticeable ones, even with multiple layers. It doesn't add any extra benefits to my skin, no blurring, no greasiness, or other fancy effects. The pros are its durability and moisturizing properties. After removing it, my skin feels hydrated. The removal process takes a bit longer than with regular foundation, but that's a small price to pay. I wash my face with a hydrating cleanser, followed by a foaming cleanser, then a cotton pad with a toner or moisturizer. The price is higher than some Korean BB creams, but lower than luxury brands.
Overall, I'd say it's worth the money. It's got some great moisturizing ingredients that work well with my finicky skin. But the actual effect is just okay. It's not a standout product, but it doesn't have any major flaws either.
The Verdict
I've only used this foundation for a short while, and I was expecting a thick texture and a moderate finish. The formula feels like it's from the past. I'm a fan of lightweight coverage and high-staying power, like the kind you get from Estee Lauder Double Wear, but with a finish that's hidden by Burberry or the gorgeous coverage of IT Cosmetics in shades like Burberry or IT Cosmetics with a shimmering or velvety finish. To be honest, nothing really stood out to me in this review, except for the decent heat resistance on the beach. If I could get my go-to foundation shades without the hassle and risk, I'd never have bought this one. I don't regret the purchase, though - the travel format was perfect for my suitcase, but I won't be repurchasing.
I've tried the Erborian foundation with the 'baby skin' effect, and I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. I didn't find any major flaws, but it didn't do wonders for my skin either. The formula feels outdated, and there aren't any special effects, but this little gem has a lot of fans, so my recommendations will be neutral.
Thanks for taking the time, I hope it was helpful!
That's it from me.
See you later!
