My Teapot Game-Changer: A Surprisingly Great Buy, Except for One Thing

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been using this electric teapot for over six months now, and I'm still blown away by its performance. Not only is it a stunning addition to my kitchen, but it's also incredibly easy to use and maintain. The build quality is top-notch, with solid buttons and a long-lasting battery. The design is sleek and modern, making it a great addition to any kitchen. However, one thing that's been a bit of a letdown is the lack of a timer feature, which would make it even more convenient to use. Despite this, I'd still highly recommend this teapot to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to brew their favorite tea.

My Teapot Game-Changer: A Surprisingly Great Buy, Except for One Thing
Hello there, lovely people!
I've been the lucky owner of this amazing and gorgeous teapot for over half a year, and I'm still blown away by it.
I know what you're thinking: 'You can't have your cake and eat it too.' But I'm here to prove you wrong! This story began just before the holidays, when everything was on sale.
I was still in a bit of a haze, thinking everything was perfect, but I was missing one crucial thing – a teapot.
I was determined to find and buy the missing piece that would bring everything together. My optimism was dwindling, and my faith in holiday magic was fading fast.
That was until I stumbled upon this teapot in a store filled with all sorts of complicated gadgets. As I rushed through the store, I somehow spotted the teapot out of the corner of my eye.
But, since I was in a hurry, I didn't get a good look at it until later that night when I checked the store's website. The next morning, I was knocking on the store's doors, eager to finally get my hands on this teapot.
Reality was kind to me – I won the lottery, and I even got a discount that I didn't even dare to hope for. Ha! I told all my friends who still don't believe in holiday magic.
Now, with the teapot in hand, I brought a sense of harmony and well-being into my home – or at least, that's what I like to think.
So, here's the deal! The teapot's 1.5-liter capacity is perfect for a day's worth of hot beverages.
If I brew something in the trusty old thermos I have at home, I've got enough left over for a couple of big cups – or even a few servings of that delicious noodle soup.
I've got a thing for transparent kitchenware. It shows up in the fact that I've got a whole collection of cups, plates, and saucers made from smooth, transparent glass and textured glass.
So, the color 'frosted transparent' is a winner for me. It's super convenient – you can see how much water's in the kettle, when it's time to clean it, if any pesky insects have crawled inside (like a mayfly, for instance), or even just to admire the micro-thermals (like a mini-Iceland) and recall those old physics lessons about boiling water…
But the Tefal team didn't stop at the logical material for the body. They did something impossible – the lid can be removed just like a regular kettle or pot!
After years of using kettles, this is the first model where it's easy to pour water in, whether it's from the tap or a filter like a cup with a filtering cartridge! Of course, the kettle is easy to clean.
When it comes to cleaning, I followed the instructions to the letter. I washed the kettle with a soft cloth and liquid detergent before first use, then ran a couple of cycles with boiling water to get rid of any impurities.
After that, I started using it to boil water and make tea. I didn't notice any of the unpleasant odors that some people mention when it comes to plastic kitchen appliances.
That being said, even though most of my other kitchen gadgets are made in China, this Tefal kettle and my Mulinex multicooker (which is great, but I'm not sure if I'll write a review about it, and maybe I don't need to) seem to be made with better quality materials than some of the no-name brands that melt, catch fire, smell bad, break, or leak.
The manufacturer's instructions for cleaning were pretty straightforward: just don't get it dirty. In other words, use clean, high-quality water.
If you need to remove limescale buildup, boil as much water as possible, add some lemon juice, let it sit, then rinse. Repeat if necessary.
My kettle has a filter that needs to be replaced every now and then, and it's been working fine so far.
However, after about six months, the bottom of the kettle started to develop a thin layer of limescale. So, before taking these photos, I gave it a good cleaning with some lemon juice.
The only thing that's got me wondering is the little indicator marks for water levels. I'm not sure what to make of them.
I've noticed that some of the features inside the kettle are not immediately apparent by touch.
And if, by some stroke of luck, you feel like investigating the inside of the kettle, you might wonder why they're there in the first place.
The little marks on the outside are near the handle. They're painted in a light grey-silver-purple color, similar to the Tefal logo, but in a smaller and thinner font.
But that's a 2-minute job: first, find them, then remember where to look. It's not that hard, right?
The power button (in the form of a pedal) is on the body, not the handle, like it often is with kettles.
Plus, if the kettle isn't on a base, the pedal button won't be pressed. So, the kettle will only turn on when it's placed on the base and decides to turn itself on.
I think this helps when you're struggling to remember whether you turned it on or off.
With this kettle, you have to track the whole sequence of actions - no automation and no long, mindless deliberation.
The bottom line!
This kettle, being almost a necessity for me, is above all praise!
Clean, white, spacious, comfortable, and safe...
The cord, like with many other kettles, assumes that the socket will be right next to it.
In my case, the kettle lives in a room. It's plugged into an extension cord. Otherwise, no go.
If I'm being picky, I'd say I don't have any issues.
And even on the websites of stores that sell these kettles, the reviews are mostly positive.
Even taking into account that reviews on such websites might be written by store employees, I still can't find anything to complain about.
Oh, wait! There is one thing!
When the kettle has clean water and no limescale, it's almost silent.
I mean, as the water heats up and starts boiling, the bubbling gets louder, but since there are no fancy lights, flashing LEDs, or other pointless illumination, I just touch the kettle's body.
Fortunately, it heats up really quickly.
If you can consider that a drawback, then that's it for the cons section.
And let's talk about the real-world performance. I used it for a week, and I'm happy to say it exceeded my expectations.
The build quality surprised me. The buttons feel solid and the battery lasts longer than I expected.
The ease of use is also a plus – it's intuitive, and I was able to set it up in no time.
The shipping was also super quick – I got it in just 3 days.
I'm really impressed with the value for money – it's a great product at a great price.
