A Harrowing Experience at Dvurechye Hotel

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently had the misfortune of staying at the Dvurechye Hotel in Kirovo-Chepetsk, and let me tell you, it was a total disaster. The hotel's description on Ostrovok made it sound like a cozy retreat, but the reality was far from it. The building itself looked abandoned, and the interior was no better. I was shocked to find out they didn't even have soap in the room. The breakfast was the only decent part of my stay, but even that was a letdown. The staff was friendly, but they didn't speak much English. The location was convenient, but the town itself was a bit of a dump. I wouldn't recommend the Dvurechye Hotel to my worst enemy.

Hello there, lovely reader!
I'm still buzzing from my recent nightmare stay at the Dvurechye Hotel in Kirovo-Chepetsk, so I'll share my thoughts with you.
By the way, I heard that Dvurechye is the only hotel in this town, and that's probably not a good thing.
You can unwind in the evening or have a relaxing time before bed in the cozy bar, but don't get your hopes up – I was really surprised when I read the hotel's description on the Ostrovok website after my stay... What bowling? What restaurant? What's the best coffee in town?
We checked into the hotel, and I was assigned a single room on the seventh floor – not exactly what I'd call a great view.
Before leaving home, I had a rough idea of the place, so I packed some essentials like slippers, toothbrush, and toothpaste. I didn't bring any soap, though – I thought they'd have some at the hotel. To be honest, I was expecting some basic toiletries, but I guess I was being naive...
The building is a total shocker – I didn't even take a photo of it. It looks like some abandoned place that's been left to rot.
Let me show you the interior.
They registered us by writing our names in a notebook. They gave us a real key, which we had to turn in the lock – yeah, that's how old-school this place is.
Dvurechye Hotel, Kirovo-Chepetsk reviewThe room is a total disaster – it's so basic and dirty that I wouldn't even let my worst enemy stay here.
There's no drinking water, so you have to go to the floor and get it from a bucket with a pump. At least there's a glass to fill it up with, but that's about it.
My Rixos slippers were a lot cleaner and whiter than the ones they provided – and that's saying something.
Dvurechye Hotel, Kirovo-Chepetsk reviewThe dirty wallpaper and grimy paint job didn't exactly lift my spirits, but I tried to stay positive and think of the good times...
I stayed in this room for three days and three nights – and I'm still trying to process the horror.
The bed is basically a mattress on the floor, and the bedding felt a bit dirty, like it hadn't been washed recently.
Dvurechye Hotel, Kirovo-ChepetskAfter the first night, my neck was all stiff from the pillow, and after the second night, I bumped my knee – yeah, that's how comfortable the bed was.
Dvurechye Hotel, Kirovo-Chepetsk reviewI didn't even turn on the TV, but its placement was just hilarious – I thought they might have taken it away from me to prevent me from packing it up and taking it home.
One of the first things I noticed when I arrived at the hotel was the lack of basic toiletries. There was a chunk of stinky soap, some shampoo and gel in a packet, but that was it – yeah, that's what I call a 'welcome package'.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk The view from the window was okay, I guess – it was a pretty winter scene, but that's about it.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review But to see the view, you first have to deal with the curtains – and let me tell you, they're a real treat.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review The towels were a joke – they were dirty grey and scratched my skin.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review The tap was spraying water everywhere – yeah, that's how they do 'water saving' here.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review On the last day, the water started draining slowly – but I was already packed and didn't care.
For the three days I was there, I only washed my feet in the shower – and that's about it.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review The bathroom was dirty, really dirty, and smelled terrible – it was like a biohazard.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review Even after I sprayed the whole bathroom with Dior perfume, the stench from the toilet was still overpowering – it was like a punch in the face.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review Breakfast:
The ladies who worked in the kitchen were making and serving up some decent porridge, pancakes with jam, omelets with sausage, and toast with cheese – yeah, that's about it.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk review This place is a total disaster, straight out of a bad Soviet-era movie – and I mean that in the worst possible way.
Hotel Dvurechye, Kirovo-Chepetsk reviewI've gotta say, reader, I hope I've painted a pretty bleak picture of this place – because that's what it is.
Maybe the owners will take notice and do something about it, but honestly, what can they do? The place is ancient – it's cheaper to build a new one from scratch than try to fix this old clunker.
I wouldn't recommend it – in fact, I'd advise you to steer clear of this dump at all costs.

live_helpFeatured FAQ

Is the Dvurechye Hotel any good?

Unfortunately, no. The hotel is a total letdown, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

What's the deal with the hotel's description on Ostrovok?

It's a total misrepresentation of the hotel. They make it sound like a cozy retreat, but it's actually a dump.

Do they have any amenities?

No, not really. They don't even have a restaurant or bowling alley like they claim.

Is the staff friendly?

Yeah, they're okay, but they don't speak much English, so communication can be a bit of a challenge.

It's convenient, I guess, but the town itself is a bit of a dump.

Can I get a refund if I don't like the hotel?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't count on it. The hotel seems to be a bit of a nightmare to deal with.

Do they have any deals or discounts?

I didn't see any, but you can try contacting them directly to ask.

Is the hotel suitable for families?

I wouldn't recommend it. The hotel is more suited for solo travelers or couples.

Can I get a room with a view?

Yeah, some rooms have a decent view, but it's not like it's a major selling point or anything.
