I've gotta say, the creative duo behind this series is truly one-of-a-kind. I don't always agree with their perspective, and sometimes I find myself wanting to argue with the way certain situations unfold or the meaning behind them. But what I appreciate is that this pair has a knack for creating something truly new and original, without following the beaten path.

The storyline is gripping, and I find myself holding my breath as I follow the characters' misadventures, unsure of what will happen next. The authors' writing is rich and evocative, conveying both joy and sorrow, and even the darkest depths of despair. Although the book doesn't feature graphic descriptions of violence or gore, the authors use subtle hints and phrases to evoke a sense of revulsion and horror, as well as pity and compassion. What do you do when someone loses the most important thing in their life? Can it be restored, only at the cost of even greater sacrifice?

No, I'm convinced that the Scourge was driven by the best of intentions and aimed to vanquish evil. The authors present the story in this light, but I have to respectfully disagree. In my opinion, evil was amplified manyfold, only to take on a different form.

I'm not convinced by the lessons the heroes seem to have learned. I mean, if you take away someone's core, that's not the same person. The first one will never understand or relate to the experience of the second self, and might even start to despise it. And what about the people who've come to love and help the other when they're face to face with the first? I just can't see anything good coming out of it.

I think the wolf changes its skin, but not its soul (as Robin Locksley, the hero of my other favorite book, would say). The heroes have been through a long journey, but, unfortunately, I think it's been a pointless one. Both of them have fallen into a trap. Yes, the authors are skilled psychologists, and I, as intended, went on a journey from disgust through regret to... respect and even admiration. But the problem is that when you close the book, you start thinking, reasoning, and analyzing. And that's when you realize that the Ouroboros is smiling at Turiya and Solia.
As she hugged him, she felt a friendly tenderness – but where was the childlike tenderness that had given way to this sweet numbness, when it was so hard to even breathe?
The atmosphere of the book is very close to my favorite dark fantasy genre. It turns out that you don't need to get too caught up in the physicality of the plot twists, nor do you need hordes of undead or supernatural creatures. People, decent and respectable people, can come up with and create something that would make the villains from other productions applaud.
The face – it's not a plate, once broken – it'll only get harder from now on…
What can I say? The book is worth reading. The interesting and unconventional plot, the dark atmosphere, and the unusual events will keep you hooked until the very last page. You'll either agree with the authors or disagree, but the book that makes you think, analyze, and reflect is truly worth your attention.
