I'm obsessed with visiting Istanbul and taking a ferry ride across the Bosphorus. I've done it multiple times, and I always make sure to take public transportation just to experience the city like a local.

This place is a strategic hub in Istanbul, separating the Asian and European sides, but it's also where the Marmara and Black Seas meet. Isn't that cool?The Bosphorus Strait is a major draw for tourists, and the locals love taking ferry rides to show off the city's attractions. What really caught my attention was how one city can have different names for its parts - Asia and Europe. It's wild!But what's even more interesting is how they live differently, visually, and it's not just the people. Both sides have millions of residents.

I've seen locals commuting to different parts of the city and crossing the Bosphorus on ferries every day. The ferry is just as much a part of the public transportation system as buses and trams are. The Bosphorus is not just a historical and touristy spot, but it also serves as a vital transportation route. Apart from the ferry rides for locals, tankers, ships, and barges pass through, heading to other countries. There are plenty of tourist attractions along the Bosphorus waterfront. You've got palaces, towers, parks, old fortresses, and mosques. The Maiden's Tower is one of the main symbols of Istanbul, located on a small island in the Asian part of the Bosphorus. I took the ferry from the European side to get there.The Ortaköy Mosque is a beautiful little gem. It was built during the reign of Sultan Abdülmecid I, and despite its modest size, it's a stunning piece of architecture. The interior is breathtaking – it's a must-see when you're in the area.The Dolmabahçe Palace is another stunning spot. It was originally built for someone else, but Sultan Abdülmecid I ended up making it his own. The architecture is breathtaking, and the photo ops are endless.And if you look along the Bosphorus waterfront, you'll see plenty of mansions belonging to Istanbul's wealthy elite, as well as some that are used as film locations. I've walked along the Bosphorus and seen plenty of parks with stunning views. The Bosphorus itself isn't always clean, especially near the European side. It's cleaner when you're leaving the shore.Nights on the Bosphorus are even more beautiful. Especially in the summer. The cool breeze is a welcome relief from the heat.

The whole area is lit up at night. The palaces, mosques, and bridges are stunning. And the sunset? It's indescribable.

I look at the people living on the shore and feel a pang of jealousy. How amazing it must be to wake up every day with this view.

This isn't just for the wealthy folks living in their mansions with yachts. There are plenty of other spots further from the shore with amazing views of the Bosphorus. There are plenty of other locations in Istanbul with great views of the Bosphorus.
