I've been to some amazing places in my travels, but the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand takes the cake. This fairytale-like attraction is a real-life history lesson and cultural experience all rolled into one. The stunning architecture, beautiful gardens, and fascinating stories will keep you hooked from the moment you step inside. You could easily spend half a day exploring the palace grounds, taking in all the sights and sounds. Don't miss the Emerald Buddha - it's one of Thailand's most revered icons and a must-see.

Hello there! I'm excited to share my experience visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok, a must-see attraction that's steeped in history and culture.
If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend getting familiar with the area beforehand. The palace is a bit of a maze, and it's easy to get lost in the winding streets and alleys.
One of the best ways to get to the palace is by taking the metro. The BL 31 - Sanam Chai station is a short walk from the palace, and it's a great way to avoid the heat and traffic.
Once you arrive at the palace, you'll need to pick up your tickets. The ticket price is 500 baht (around 1500 rubles as of November 2023), and it's a small price to pay for the opportunity to explore this incredible piece of history.
As you make your way through the palace, you'll notice that there are several temples on the grounds. Be sure to remove your shoes before entering any of the temples, just like you would at any other temple in Thailand.
One of the highlights of the palace is the Emerald Buddha temple. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed inside the temple, but it's definitely worth a visit. Be sure to look out for the beautiful murals and intricate carvings that adorn the walls and ceilings.
After exploring the palace, you can head out to the actual palace building. Be sure to check out the administrative building and the cannons used during the Burmese conflict. And if you're feeling thirsty, there's a free toilet on the way out!
On the way out, you'll also see the security guards and a water fountain that was closed when we were there. But don't worry, there are plenty of other things to see and do in the area.
Lastly, I'd like to say that the Palace operates from 8:30, and the first tourist groups arrive around 10-11 am. So, if you want to stroll through the quiet alleys, come early in the morning.
As a final treat, I've included some photos of mine from the Palace. I hope you enjoy them!
And don't forget to download the app and load up Bangkok when you've got a connection or Wi-Fi. It's super easy to navigate, and you can get to the temple from Pattaya on a songthaew and see everything for yourself.
But don't worry if the tourists send you to another temple or something. Just look for the big white fence, and you'll definitely not get lost!
So, if you're planning a trip to Bangkok, be sure to add the Grand Palace to your itinerary. It's a must-see destination that's steeped in history and culture, and it's a great way to experience the local way of life.
And if you're interested in getting an audio guide, it costs 200 baht and is available in Russian too. So, I'd recommend getting it if you're interested.
Until next time, and all the best!
