We've been to Balaklava in Crimea multiple times, but we've always just stopped by for a quick visit or to grab a bite to eat, since we often stay in Laspis and there's not much to do there. The town has a really beautiful waterfront with yachts that I've never seen before in my life. There are super expensive, guarded boats that you're not even allowed to take pictures of, and the security guards are right there, too. Plus, there are catamarans and sailboats for rent.

But that's how it is everywhere in the western part of Crimea... Starting from the Crimean Bridge to YUBK, I didn't see anything like this, and closer to Foros and up the Baidarskaya Valley, anti-war safety begins to kick in, which is a bit surreal... Balaklava is literally covered in pillboxes and shelters, starting from the highway. And the city center isn't an exception.
