Aurorastar Blue Leggings

I'm obsessed with my Aurorastar Blue Leggings. The super-soft, stretchy fabric is a total game-changer - it's like wearing a cloud. The relaxed fit is perfect for casual activities, whether that's lounging around the house or running errands. I've worn them for everything from yoga to grocery shopping, and they're still looking great after multiple washes. I've even worn them on days when I'm just hanging out at home, and they still manage to look put together. The best part? They're ridiculously comfortable, and I feel like I'm wearing pajamas all day long. If you're looking for a pair of leggings that's both stylish and comfortable, look no further than the Aurorastar Blue Leggings.

Winter Boot Essentials for Little Ones: Aurorastar Review

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently purchased the Aurorastar duck boots for my 1.5-year-old daughter, and I'm thoroughly impressed with their quality, comfort, and value for money. The boots are incredibly warm, even in freezing temperatures, thanks to their thick layer of sheep's wool insulation that keeps my child's feet dry and toasty. The Velcro straps make it easy to put them on and take off, saving time and hassle, while the adjustable cuff ensures a secure fit that prevents the boots from slipping off during wear. The boots are also surprisingly lightweight, making them perfect for long walks and playtime. While they may not be the most stylish option, I've found them to be a game-changer for winter walks with my little one. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Aurorastar duck boots to anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable pair of winter boots for their child.

Hello everyone!
As I prepared my little one for her first winter, I found myself faced with a tough decision - what kind of shoes to buy that would keep her warm, dry, and comfortable during our walks. While I had no doubts about choosing leather demi-season boots for spring and fall, researching the vast array of winter shoes took up a significant amount of time before I made a decision.
I had so many questions:
- Should I opt for wellies, leather boots, snow boots, duck boots, or Uggs?
- Which material and insulation would keep my child from freezing and getting wet?
- How to get the right size?
- Which brand to choose?
After hours of reading reviews and recommendations from other moms, I concluded that the best shoes for cold winter for little ones who aren't as active on walks are high-quality duck boots.
Other options fell through:
- Leather shoes, even with serious insulation, wouldn't be suitable for long snowy walks - the child's feet would get cold, and the boots would lose their appearance quickly. Leather is better suited for demi-season and summer.
- Wellies are great at retaining heat, and it's easy to find beautiful models. However, they quickly get wet and lose their functionality when in contact with wet snow for an extended period. Wellies are perfect for keeping the legs of sitting children warm, but they won't protect curious 'walkers' from wet feet. Of course, in regions with dry and extremely cold winters, wellies are a delight to wear, but for Moscow's slushy winters, it's better to opt for another type of shoe.
- Snow boots look like a hybrid of rubber boots and duck boots, but in practice, it's better to buy two separate pairs of shoes rather than a 2-in-1. Snow boots don't provide as reliable protection from getting wet as rubber boots do, and for puddles and snowdrifts, it's better to opt for shoes made of EVA (e.g. Nordman Kids), which won't let you down even if the child steps into a icy puddle up to their knees. On the other hand, snow boots aren't as warm as duck boots, so I didn't see the point in buying them.
In the end, I decided on duck boots: they're warm, lightweight, and don't get wet during snowy walks.
I found a huge variety of duck boots with different qualities and prices. After reading reviews, I discovered that for most moms, the benchmark is winter duck boots from the Finnish company Kuoma. Not one generation of children has grown up without wearing these boots. They're lightweight, non-waterproof, warm, and beautiful - they're almost flawless, except for one thing - the price. The average price for one pair is 4500-5000 rubles, and considering how quickly a child's foot grows, not every family can afford to spend this amount on winter shoes every year.
I really wanted to buy Kuoma for my daughter, but at the same time, the thought kept nagging me: maybe there are high-quality models that are cheaper.
I was shopping for shoes on the Wildberries website and saw duck boots from the Russian manufacturer Aurorastar. I was amazed by the huge number of positive reviews - there were over 200, and the pair cost almost twice less than Kuoma - 2700 rubles.
For comparison, I ordered both options - Kuoma and Aurorastar - and here are my conclusions after receiving both models:
One thing that really made a difference in my decision was the fact that the Aurorastar boots have Velcro straps on the shaft, which make it super easy to slip them on and off. You don't have to wrestle with them like you do with some other brands. Plus, the Velcro allows you to adjust the width of the shaft, so you can wear the boots over your pants or under them.
The quality of the boots is top-notch - I was blown away by the materials and construction. I didn't have any issues with the stitching, materials, or insulation. One thing I noticed is that the Aurorastar boots are slightly taller than the Kuoma boots. The color selection for the Kuoma boots is a bit wider, but Aurorastar had all the classic colors in stock: blue, burgundy, purple, black, navy, pink, and red. I needed a pair of blue boots, and the navy color on the Aurorastar was perfect - it's a deep, cool shade. The boots have reflective elements on them. The main reason I chose the Aurorastar boots was the Velcro straps on the shaft, which make them super easy to put on and take off. You can also adjust the width of the shaft with the Velcro. The Velcro straps make it easy to adjust the width of the shaft.I finally got my hands on the boots, and I'm excited to share my experience with you.
The boots came in a nice box.The box had information about the boots. The boots came in a nice package.1. Choosing the right size.
The size chart on the manufacturer's website is spot on - not too big, not too small. The boot shaft in the 22 size is 14.7 cm long. Here's the full size chart at the top of the photo:
The size chart from the manufacturer. The boot shaft in the 22 size is 14.7 cm long.My daughter's foot is 12.5 cm long, and the boots were a bit too big, but considering the fur lining, which takes up a few millimeters, we had a 1.5 cm margin. The manufacturer recommends buying winter boots with a 1-1.5 cm margin, but Aurorastar's smallest size is 22, so we had to go with that. My daughter can wear them comfortably, despite the boots being a bit too big. You can tell they're very comfortable - she ran around the apartment in them and only took them off with tears in her eyes. The boot shaft in the 22 size is 19 cm tall, including the heel and sole.
Height of the cuff - 19 cm. To be honest, I was worried that they'd be too bulky and my daughter wouldn't be able to walk in them, but with her height of 80 cm, the booties end just below the knee and don't get in the way of walking. The elastics are quite thick (E5), so they'll fit nicely on a wider ankle. At 22, the circumference of the cuff at its highest point is 27 cm.
Circumference of the cuff in 22 size - 27 cm. My daughter has a standard calf and a narrow ankle, and the boot fit perfectly without any hassle. This model has adjustable cuffs with velcro, making it super easy to put them on.
Velcro on the cuff I don't know how people manage without velcro on baby booties - it's a total nightmare! For older kids, it's not a problem, but for one- or two-year-olds, you'll be struggling. Note that Aurorastar has models without velcro, with a lower cuff height of 20 cm - don't mix them up!
Booties in a relaxed state2. Model features In my experience, these booties are incredibly warm - the manufacturer promises comfortable walks even in 40-degree frost.
Manufacturer's information What's surprising is that my daughter's feet don't get too sweaty - she ran around for 5-10 minutes in a warm room, and her socks were completely dry. I guess it's because the insulation is natural - sheep's wool. The wool is quite thick and evenly distributed across the inside of the boot, including the heel. Insulation - sheep's wool
Insulation - dense and even View of the insulation The sole has a slight heel - about 2 cm, which is great for proper foot development. The sole itself is made of polyurethane and looks quite thick, but the booties are actually very light.
Outer boot appearance The upper layer of the fabric is dense and slightly velvety to the touch. Although it's not a membrane fabric, the dirt- and water-repellent treatment should help (I hope!) keep the legs dry. Yes, for puddles and snowstorms, rubber boots are still the way to go, but these little booties should handle wet snow without any issues. The boot shaft features reflective inserts for added safety in low light conditions. Inside the booties, there are cozy wool insoles. The manufacturer claims they're three-layered - wool + foil + felt. From the looks and feel, the insoles are really pleasant.
Warm three-layer insoles3. My impressions of the model. When I brought the booties home, my husband said "Cool!!!" It was as if he'd read my mind - that's exactly what I thought when I first picked up the booties myself.
AURORASTAR booties - side viewYes, they're not the most elegant, more on the bulky and chunky side, and the princess look with these booties isn't going to happen. But I've decided for myself that when it comes to winter, it's more important for the kid to stay warm and dry, and to save the stylish shoes for spring and summer.
AURORASTAR booties - rear viewNot having a super sleek design doesn't mean they're not visually appealing - no, these booties have their own charm: they're solid, look expensive, and feel great to the touch. And the best part is that the kid, at 1.5 years old and not exactly a fan of wearing boots and snowsuits, has actually found them comfortable and easy to wear.Until the warm weather comes and I can take the booties out for a spin, I'm confident they'll deliver on quality and reliability. Once they've been put through their paces in real-world conditions, I'll be sure to update this review and share my thoughts on how they hold up, how easy they are to clean, and whether they keep the kid's feet dry and toasty.
Very best wishes for a wonderful autumn and winter!
Update to my review:
The kid has been wearing these booties for over a month now, and they still look brand new. The quality is simply top-notch! During this time, we've managed to put them through their paces in temperatures ranging from -1°C to -8°C (felt like -13°C). At -1°C, with a thin cotton sock, the kid's legs were warm but not sweaty, and at -8°C, with a thin woolen sock, the legs were slightly cooler but not cold. The kid's activity level is still relatively low - a bit of walking, a bit of running, and mostly just lounging in the stroller. For more active kids, a cotton sock should be sufficient for this kind of weather. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and will definitely be getting the same booties in a larger size for next winter.
