AtAg Glazed Chocolates Di Doo Dah

These AtAg glazed chocolates are a game-changer for anyone with a sweet tooth. I'm talking rich, decadent flavor and a smooth texture that'll keep you coming back for more. Whether you're in the mood for something classic or just want to mix things up, these chocolates are the perfect pick-me-up or indulgence.

ATAG's Di Doo Dah Candies: A Pretty Package Falls Flat

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm a big fan of ATAG's pastel aesthetic, but their Di Doo Dah candies are a mixed bag. The design is stunning, with delicate wrappers that evoke Jane Austen's era. However, the taste doesn't quite live up to the beauty of the packaging. I used these candies for a week and was disappointed to find that the flavor profile is quite similar to their 'Arfa' product. The build quality is decent, but the price point feels a bit steep for what you get. Overall, these candies are more about looks than substance.

I've seen ATAG use a pastel aesthetic before, like with their 'Arfa' product. The Di Doo Dah candies seem to have borrowed not only the soft color palette but also the recipe. It's almost as if they took a page out of Jane Austen's book, with their delicate wrappers looking like they belong in a vase on her table.
Will the taste live up to the beauty of the design?
Price: 75 - 80рр. - 100г, 750 - 800рр. за 1 кг Place of purchase: Pyaterochka Brand: ATAGxa0
The Di Doo Dah candies are definitely worthy of being named after the heroines of 'Pride and Prejudice' or simply, the Bennet sisters. And the design? It's a winner - a perfect blend of elegance and whimsy.
ATAG CandiesThese candies would make perfect gifts for those who appreciate authentic aesthetics, especially on Valentine's Day or International Women's Day. The heart-shaped design or the 8th of March theme would be a great touch. But let's get real, the wrapper is only as good as the taste inside. And that's where things get interesting.
Ingredients of ATAG candies can be found on Ozon, as they're not really advertised anywhere else. I took a closer look, and it's a long list of ingredients, including sugar, palm kernel oil, soy lecithin, and more.Sugar, non-tempered laurin type cocoa butter substitute (refined and deodorized palm kernel oil, soy lecithin E322), special purpose fat (palm kernel oil, palm oil), dried skimmed milk, cocoa powder, dried whole milk, dry whey, wafer crumbs (wheat flour, sugar, refined and deodorized coconut oil, soy emulsifier, lecithin, wheat bran (fiber), coconut flake, flavorings: 'ice cream', chocolate-nut cream', 'coconut', 'milk caramel' preservative - sorbic acid.

The candy has a cupola shape, with a surface adorned with ribbed lines. The glaze is so hard that it's tough to cut the candy cleanly even with a sharp ceramic knife.
The milk glaze is slightly different in color from one candy to another, ranging from a lighter to a darker shade. The taste, however, is consistently unsweet and bland, much like a confectioner's glaze. Now, let's take a look at the fillings, depending on the color of the wrapper:
Pink.
Chocolate-hazelnut creamI was surprised by the strong hazelnut flavor in the chocolate paste. There are sharp notes, and the sweetness is barely noticeable. Not my cup of tea, to be honest.
Yellow. Ice cream The most interesting flavor, in my opinion, is the ice cream. I thought it was lemon due to the subtle tanginess. Although, why can't ice cream be lemon, right?
Blue.
Milk caramel The caramel is overwhelmingly rich and sticky, with a texture that's almost too thick. The darker fillings are hard to distinguish from one another. I even thought I could taste the chocolate cream in the caramel.
Purple.
Coconut. The coconut flavor is sweet, but not bad – it's just not as good as the plum one.
So, the overall impression:adorable wrapper;way too pricey;suspect ingredients;hard candy coating, especially at the base of the candy;the coating tastes like cheap candy;you can really taste the palm oil in the dark fillings;all the fillings are pretty unimpressive, with a bland aftertaste. Di Doo Dah candies from ATAG had me hooked with their romantic wrapper design, but they fell flat on taste. Out of the four varieties, the only one that stuck with me was the plum one in the yellow packaging. Not exactly wow-worthy, but at least it was something.
