My Honest Review of Yandex Pay and Split: A Lifesaver on Paydays

I've been using Yandex Bank for a while now, and it all started with Yandex Market, which I've been a part of for probably 3 years. I signed up because it's often cheaper to buy things with my Yandex card compared to paying with a card from another bank – it's a no-brainer for value for money.

Then I discovered the split feature, which I use a lot now. It's super convenient – I can buy things without having to save up for them. I mean, who doesn't love that kind of freedom?

At first, I was paying my split through Yandex Market, but then I downloaded the Yandex Pay app, and to be honest, I downloaded it because there was some promotion going on where you got 500 points for installing it. But what I found was that it's really user-friendly, and I ended up using it all the time.

Now I use the app to pay for my transport card (troika) and it's become even easier to pay my split through the app. I just fire up the app, select the split, and I'm done – no more hassle with cash or other payment methods.

Also, through the Yandex Pay app, I discovered that there's a split limit for buying things in stores. When you're short on cash before payday, it's really helpful – you don't have to take out a loan, and you can pay off the split over 2 months without any extra charges. For example, if you buy something for 1000 rubles, you only pay 250 now, and you can pay off the rest in your next paycheck. It's saved me from a tight spot more than once, and I'm sure it'll do the same for you.One thing I really appreciate is that you don't need to confirm your personal data for the split, which has saved me a few times. I mean, who wants to deal with that kind of hassle?

I've also been impressed with how convenient it is to pay for my transport card – no more hassle with cash or other payment methods. And let's not forget that many items on Yandex Market are cheaper to buy with my Yandex card, which is a big plus.

Now, I do have to mention a few things that aren't so great.

First, the payments for the split (when buying things on Yandex Market) are now every 2 weeks, not monthly. So, if you're calculating from one payday to the next, you end up having to make 3 payments, which is more expensive. You can confirm your data to pay the split monthly, but that's not an option for people with court orders against them. It's a bit of a pain, but I guess it's a trade-off for the convenience.

So far, I haven't had any negative experiences, and I'm hoping it stays that way. I've been really happy with the service, and I think it's a great option for anyone looking for a convenient and affordable way to split payments.
