A Delicious Twist on Classic Whisky: William Lawson's Super Spiced

I stumbled upon this whisky during the new year's holidays, and it came in a fancy holiday package called 'Elochka', but you can also buy it without that packaging. To be honest, I thought it was a great value for the price, considering the quality and packaging.

Brand history:

The official story of the William Lawson's brand began in 1889, when William Lawson registered the trademark and started producing a blend under his own name. During the Great Depression, production was halted and resumed after World War II in Liverpool, and in 1967, it returned to Scotland, in Cottbridge. Since 1972, the brand has belonged to the Martini company, with significant expansions to production facilities. Since 1992, Martini and, accordingly, William Lawson's has been owned by the Bacardi consortium. Whisky under the William Lawson's brand, which includes both standard and premium versions, is known not only at home but also enjoys great popularity in Europe, especially in France, where it takes top spots in the segment of high-quality whiskies. The whisky is aged in oak barrels from Spanish sherry and American bourbon.

The whisky comes in a 700ml glass bottle with a transparent green color. The bottle itself is wrapped in a cardboard Elochka, which adds to the overall premium feel of the product.

The front of the bottle has a large golden label with a man in traditional Scottish clothing in the center. The brand name is written above.

I loved the vintage feel of this bottle, with the year 1849 stamped onto the glass. It's a nice touch, and it adds to the overall charm of the product.

The story behind this drink:

According to the brand, the idea behind William Lawson’s Super Spiced came from master blender Stephanie Macleod.

She combined single-malt and grain whiskey with vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon, and added natural apple extract and maple syrup to give it that extra kick.

The whiskey is then aged in sherry barrels.

I was really impressed by the thin metal cap on this bottle – it’s made of real metal and unscrews easily. It's a nice touch, and it adds to the overall premium feel of the product.

Color:

The color of this drink is absolutely stunning – it’s a deep, rich brown that gives off a warm, amber glow.

Smell:

I was really impressed by the nice, subtle vanilla aroma with hints of spices. It's a great start to the drinking experience.

Impression:

The flavor of William Lawson`s Super Spiced Whisky is way more interesting than its classic version, which this one is based on. It's a bold, complex flavor that’s full of notes of coffee, apple cider, freshness of herbs and spices, and of course, vanilla.

I especially love the smell of this whisky. It doesn’t give off that harsh, boozy smell, even though it’s 35% ABV. Instead, it smells sweet and vanilla-like. It's really easy to drink, and it's super relaxing.

I like to enjoy William Lawson`s Super Spiced Whisky with cola and ice cubes. Even after adding cola, the vanilla flavor still comes through.

My husband prefers to drink it straight with ice, but I enjoy it with cola. We’ve also paired it with pizza and sushi – it’s a great match.

William Lawson`s Super Spiced Whisky pairs really well with anything, whether it’s a BBQ, steak, pizza, sushi, cold snacks (chips or crackers), or hot snacks (cheese balls or bacon sandwiches). It’s especially great with cheese platters. Fish and seafood dishes are also a great match.

My favorite way to enjoy William Lawson`s Super Spiced Whisky is with pizza and sushi. And of course, it’s perfect for special occasions.
