Whiskas Dry Cat Food with Beef

I've got a cat, and let me tell you, finding the right food can be a real challenge. But Whiskas Dry Cat Food with Beef has been a game-changer for me. It's made with beef, which is a big deal for my picky eater. The quality is top-notch, and I can see the difference in her coat and energy levels. Whiskas has been around for a while, and they've got a range of options to suit different feline needs. Whether you're looking for a specific diet or just want a reliable brand, Whiskas is a great choice.

Our Cat's Go-To Food for a Boost - Whiskas Dry Food

summarizeEditor's Summary

As a cat parent, I can attest that Whiskas dry food has become a staple in our household for our little furball, Koxa. I was initially concerned about switching from a kitten food mix to a 1+ year-old cat food, but Whiskas has been a game changer. Koxa loves the taste and it's been a breeze to incorporate into his diet. The build quality of the packaging is also impressive, with a resealable lid that keeps the food fresh. While it's not the cheapest option, I believe the value for money is well worth it. I've been using Whiskas dry food for a while now, and I'm consistently impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. It's been a total win for our household, and I'd highly recommend it to any cat parent looking for a reliable and nutritious option.

As a cat parent, I can attest that Whiskas dry food has become a staple in our household for our little furball, Koxa. Some people might have strong opinions about dry or wet food, or even opt for homemade meals, but ultimately, it's up to each of us to decide what's best for our furry friends.
Our experience with Tim, the kitten who sadly passed away after being hit by a car, was a tough one, and we eventually welcomed a new family member, Koxa, who's a complete opposite of Tim in terms of behavior and diet.
Koxa, on the other hand, loves dry food and isn't too fussy about homemade meals, but I found a solution to provide him with a balanced and nutritious diet.
At 4 months old, Koxa has been on a food mix designed for 1+ year-old cats, as there wasn't a suitable option for kittens available in stores, and we had to make do with what we had.
Where I Bought It
Pyaterochka store, where I was surprised to find that they rarely stock kitten food, to the point where I'd say it's not always available in their stores.
Cost
145 rubles for 350 grams
700 rubles for 1.9 kg
Packaging
A bright purple packet with a picture of a grey cat.
On the front, there's a detailed description from the manufacturer:At the top, in red, it says beef flavor, which is also mentioned in the bottom left cornerBrand - WhiskasOn the bottom right, there are the key features of the food:
100% balanced and complete foodFiber for healthy digestionOmega-6 and zinc for healthy skin and coatVitamins for immune system supportThe back has more detailed information.
Feeding schedule is clearly laid out.
I've been following it for a week now, and it's been working out great for my cat. The recommended feeding schedule is as follows: for wet food only, 2-3 pouches a day for cats weighing 2-3 kg, 3-4 pouches a day for cats weighing 4-5 kg, and 4-5 pouches a day for cats weighing 6-8 kg. For a combination of wet and dry food, 2 pouches a day plus 15g of dry food for cats weighing 2-3 kg, 2.5 pouches a day plus 20g of dry food for cats weighing 4-5 kg, and 3-3.5 pouches a day plus 25-30g of dry food for cats weighing 6-8 kg. Whiskas recommends combining different formats of food in your cat's diet. In the morning and evening, give your cat wet food, and during the day, give them dry food. This will allow you to combine the benefits of each format, making sure your cat's diet is not only delicious but also nutritious. Remember, never mix wet and dry food in the same bowl. Also, make sure your cat always has access to clean drinking water. Main components of the food and their impact on your cat's body.
Composition The main components of the food are: grains and their by-products, animal-derived ingredients (including beef), plant-based protein extracts, animal fats and plant oils (including sunflower oil), hydrolyzed animal-derived ingredients, mineral substances, vitamins, beet pulp, brewer's yeast, amino acids (including taurine), colorants, dried carrots, and antioxidants.
Nutritional Content (100g):
Protein - 35g; Fat - 11.5g; Ash - 8.5g; Fiber - 1.5g; Moisture - not more than 10g; Vitamin A - 600 IU; Vitamin E - 7.3mg; Calcium - 1.2g; Phosphorus - 1g.
Weight
350g
It's great that the pack is closed with a Zip lock , which helps preserve the aroma of the food and prevents spills if the package is dropped. Organoleptics The main difference between the food for adult cats and kittens is the size of the granules and chunks, which are twice as large, but our cat has no problem eating them . At the time of writing this review, the package has already been empty for a while, and there have been no negative consequences from feeding our cat with this food. Of course, dry food is not the only thing in our cat's diet, as it serves as a sort of 'snack' before the main meal.
I was surprised to find three types of food in the box: The brown-red and green pellets look pretty standard, but the beige ones are a different story. The beige puffs are a nice touch, though.
After feeding my cat, I was left with a greasy residue and tiny crumbs everywhere.
The smell is familiar - it's got that bread-like aroma that's common to all the food types.I've got to admit, I'm not a stranger to dry cat food. In fact, when I was in college, my friend's cat would get these dry food bits, and we'd snack on them like chips. So, I've had my fair share of dry cat food.
Let's try the green pellet. The brown-red one has the same taste and texture, but the green one's got a tangy flavor that hits you right away. It's not citrusy, but more like the taste you get from spoiled milk or yogurt. As I chew it, I can pick up on the bread-like flavor, but there's no 'meaty' taste to speak of.
The texture is dense and hard, like stale bread that's been re-dried.When I try the chunk, the flavor is identical to the round pieces. But the texture is softer, just like the chunks I serve for breakfast - they're easy to crunch and chew.Inside, there's a white filling, which is also dry and doesn't add any extra flavor. My cat's verdict on the kibbleThe most important thing for kibble is preserving the aroma - as soon as the kibble stops smelling, my cat isn't interested. My husband likes to pour a lot of kibble into the bowl at night, so our cat doesn't disturb us during the night and doesn't ask for food in the morning. Usually, he doesn't finish it and in the morning, when he goes to the food dish, he's not interested in the kibble, but as soon as I add a few fresh granules with a strong aroma, he finishes the rest.
I think kibble should be the main course, but I also believe that there should be some other liquid food. To achieve this, I give him a bowl of soup, like beef broth, and add a little kibble to the other compartment of the food dish.
Cox eats the dry kibble first. But as there's not much, he kind of teases his appetite and then moves on to the second compartment.
Our cat just can't get enough of the stuff we put in this bag. And then he just inhales it, this time just about everything, but that's an exception - usually he licks the leftovers clean. After he's eaten, he starts to clean up. I love this part, when he meticulously washes his face, then moves on to the rest of his body. After a tasty meal, it's always time for a nap. Effect on Cat We managed to get a bit less than a month out of this pack.
No negative impact on our cat was detected, and that's because he's not a one-trick pony - his diet is varied, I boil up some grains with meat or fish for him, give him raw meat, cook up some oatmeal...
He's a real go-getter, even a bit too active at times, his fur is shiny, and he's regular with his litter box, we have to clean it out almost every day. Summary I know a lot of people are against this brand, but let's be real, we don't know what can kill our furry family member.
Our cat likes this food. Without it, he refuses to eat his homemade meals, except for oatmeal, boiled cabbage, broccoli (yes, he's a veggie cat), and raw meat.
Pros It's budget-friendly.
It's widely available.
It has a Zip lock.
Our cat likes the food.
Thanks for reading! ^-^
