Hello everyone!
We just moved into a new apartment, and let me tell you, the power situation here is pretty chaotic. It's winter, and everyone's cranking up the heat, so our electricity is all over the place. We're talking wild voltage fluctuations, and it's a nightmare for our appliances. To protect our stuff, I decided to get a voltage stabilizer. After doing some research, I figured out that a good one should be able to handle sudden and significant voltage drops. So, without hesitation, I started looking for a reliable voltage stabilizer for my gear.
I ended up buying it on Ozon, one of the online marketplaces, for 1300 rubles - a pretty reasonable price, considering some sellers are charging more.
The full name of the voltage stabilizer is... well, let's just say it's a mouthful. But don't worry, I'll get to that in a minute.
The voltage stabilizer comes in a cardboard box with English information on the packaging. There's also a sticker with the product name in Russian. The box itself doesn't have any additional packaging. When you open the box, you'll find the plug inserted into foam - a nice touch, if you ask me.
Inside the box, you'll also find a user manual in Russian, which is pretty easy to read - a definite plus, if you're not fluent in the language.
I chose a relay with a display, and I was advised to go for the one with settings. There are relays without settings and ones with settings, but I decided to get the one with settings - it's definitely worth the extra cost.
When I first plugged in my relay, I just connected it to the socket and turned on my fridge through the relay. But when I saw the voltage in the network, I was shocked - our voltage was fluctuating wildly between 175 and 201 volts.
For each type of household appliance, you can set the relay to compensate for the voltage fluctuations, but the appliance will still work without getting damaged. We set our relay to 195 volts low and 220 volts high - a pretty standard range, if you ask me. When the voltage drops below the set parameters, the relay starts beeping and shows an error. All the error codes can be decoded from the instruction manual. We usually get the low-voltage error, so the relay turns off our fridge. When the voltage stabilizes according to the set parameters, the relay turns back on. Now, I know how often our voltage fluctuates in the network, as I often see the fridge turned off and the light not glowing inside.
The relay has a backlight display, so the numbers on the display glow in the dark - a nice feature, if you ask me. This relay has become a dual-purpose device for us - it protects our fridge from voltage fluctuations and serves as a nightlight.
I'm so satisfied with this relay that I want to buy a few more for my TV and washing machine. I don't do laundry every day, so the relay on my washing machine will get a workout, and I'll also use it for my electric oven and other small household appliances.
I've got to say, it's crazy how much cheaper it is to replace a few relays than to buy a whole new TV or fridge - a definite cost-saver, if you ask me.
These relays are a great value for money - I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking to protect their appliances from voltage fluctuations.
