Vita Line Optimum Contact Lens Solution

I've tried a few contact lens solutions, but Vita Line Optimum is my top pick. It's super gentle on my eyes and does the job of cleaning and disinfecting my lenses without any hassle. Plus, it's a breeze to use and doesn't leave any residue behind. I really appreciate the value for money, and it's a great option for daily wear - my eyes stay healthy and comfortable all day long.

My Not-So-Optimal Experience with Vita Line Optimum Contact Lens Solution

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently started using contact lenses and was on the hunt for a reliable cleaning solution that wouldn't break the bank. I tried Vita Line Optimum, but my experience was a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, I scored a great value for money with a 3-for-2 promo. However, the packaging was a letdown, and the container wasn't included. I also found it confusing with all the alternatives available, like Vita Line Premium and the 'Licontin' solutions. The solution itself worked okay, but I'm not convinced it's worth the hassle. I'd say it's not my go-to solution for contact lens cleaning.

I recently started using contact lenses, and I've been trying out various cleaning solutions that won't break the bank.
Purchase location: Vita pharmacyPrice: Around 134 rubles for 120 ml, but I snagged a 3-for-2 promotion, making it a great value for money.Alternatives abound.
This solution has a bunch of alternatives in different sizes. I initially bought Vita Line Premium with a similar composition, and the packaging even hinted at it.
Variety of 'Licontin' solutions essentially do the same thing, which made me wonder why I needed to try them all.
Packaging and accessories.
The solution comes in a box, but unfortunately, the container isn't included, which is a bit of a letdown.
The dropper is fine, but I've come to prefer options with a thinner nozzle for easier cleaning.
Composition.
Sensory experience.
The consistency is extremely liquid and doesn't flow much, which can make it a bit tricky to get out of the bottle. It tastes slightly salty - I'm not sure why, but it's not the most pleasant experience.
No noticeable smell, which is a plus.
Usage instructions.
My experience with it.
I used Vita Line Optimum solution with two types of silicone-hydrogel contact lenses: daily and two-weekly. My experience spans around 3 months, and I've got some thoughts to share.
First off, let's talk about the cost. I use up any cleaning solution like it's going out of style - I just can't imagine cleaning lenses with just a few drops. Plus, I end up pouring it all over my hands because I don't want to touch the lenses with tap water right after.
With daily lenses.
You might wonder why I even bothered buying a separate cleaning solution for my daily lenses. To be honest, the 'native' solution was really irritating my eyes, so I needed something else to rinse them with. Plus, I could take the lenses out during the day (like when I showered), and then put them back in. And I needed somewhere to store them. So, this solution did a great job of cleaning my lenses from the standard stuff, which meant they didn't irritate my eyes when I put them back in.
When storing my daily lenses for a period of time - like a few hours - it kept the surface nice and moist, and cleaned off any deposits.
With two-week lenses.
Right away, I noticed how badly the Optimum solution flows. It feels like you're just running water over the lens, which isn't super convenient for me.
The level of cleaning for my two-week lenses just wasn't up to par. With this kind of wear, they get dirty faster, and the solution has a hard time getting rid of the deposits.
I actually ended up liking the Dr. Linz solution even better for lenses that are worn for two weeks or more - it's pretty budget-friendly and works a lot better. Plus, it comes with a container, which is a nice touch.
Alternative uses.
I've read online that it's not a good idea to get the solution in your eyes, but you know - accidents happen. For example, I'd run out of solution and have to improvise with something else. I had to get creative with my cleaning solutions.
Yeah, some manufacturers, like Oftalmiks, make 'drops' that are almost identical to this solution in terms of composition, so it's all pretty conditional and individual.
But honestly, I didn't enjoy putting the Liconitin (Vita) solutions in my eyes. They're more for rinsing out debris than actually moisturizing. I'm not deducting points for that, but it's worth noting if you're into that.
So, Vita Line Optimum contact lens solution.
It's budget-friendlyNo container in the package, which is a bit of a letdownThe consistency is basically just water, which makes it hard to get out of the bottleIt's okay for daily disposablesIt doesn't irritate my eyesBut it's not great for longer-wear lenses - it doesn't clean well enoughAnd if you're thinking of putting it in your eyes, trust me, don't
Verdict.
For me, it's a solid 3/5 - I'd say it's a decent option for daily disposables, but it's not the best choice for other types of lenses. I actually prefer Dr. Linz.
Thanks for reading!
