The dominant note here is bergamot, with a bit of vetiver in the background and a vague hint of ambery materials in the drydown. That's it. The cocoa is basically an afterthought, probably refined, because there's no real scent to speak of. But since it's listed on the ingredients, I'll give the manufacturer points for honesty.
Consistency
The 'butter' prefix is unnecessary here. This is a classic formula for a melting cream.
It absorbs in about five minutes, leaving a hydrated finish and just a hint of oiliness.
How it Works?
I have to admit, I didn't plan on using it as a solo product. My skin craves a multi-step routine. The cream was supposed to be a base before moisturizing, so the oil would have something to lock in. To be honest, my skin is super dry and can't hold onto moisture for long.
Moisturizing was a bit of a letdown. The product absorbs quickly, leaving behind a slightly damp feeling. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy, it just disappears into the skin. My skin feels nice to the touch, and the tightness after showering is gone. It seemed like the perfect base for oil, but unfortunately, the effect is short-lived.
When I use a cream with ceramides, lock it in with oil, and I'm good for the whole day without feeling the need to reapply, it's a different story here. Within an hour, I'm itching to apply more product.
Textures like this are great for an office hand cream, when you need to quickly hydrate your hands and get back to work. This formula can't play the long game, at least not on skin prone to dryness and flakiness.
Nourishment is also lacking, I can see it in my cuticles, which are way less dry and less prone to splitting when I use a good cream. With Touchy, the skin around my nails is still pretty dry.
I took the jar to the hallway, dubbed it the 'pre-outing hand cream', and that's where it would have stayed if not for a twist of fate.
My husband thought that since I told him to use it on his hands before going out, he could use it on himself too. One evening, I walked into the room and was hit with the scent of my favorite laundry detergent and a lovely vetiver and cardamom fragrance from my shirt. It all blended together so harmoniously that I couldn't help but take a deep sniff.
The scent on his warm skin was even more intense and irresistible. It added a creamy note that I hadn't noticed before.
My husband was pleased with the result and started using it regularly. Not bad, I thought, maybe I don't have to do the whole routine after all. And honestly, it smells great, so I'm not complaining.
The Battery Life is Definitely Longer with This Format, Since My Husband's Skin is Thicker. The Bottle Lasts for About 1.5 to 2 Weeks.
For skin without specific issues, this is more than enough, and my husband is happy with the fast absorption of the product, which allows him to use the gamepad within 10 minutes without any issues.
He's basically decided that this product is for men, and the simple packaging and masculine scent have done their job. Now, I just remove the box with the cute angels from the delivery and pretend it was always like that.
