The Scary 2 (2022)

This 2022 horror film is a wild ride that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. With a storyline that's full of twists and turns, and visuals that'll leave you sleeping with the lights on, The Scary 2 is a must-watch for thrill-seekers. It's got all the right ingredients for a chilling experience - suspense, thrills, and plenty of jump scares. If you're a fan of horror movies, you won't want to miss this one.

I'm Still Trying to Find the Right Words to Describe How Awful This Movie Is

summarizeEditor's Summary

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how a movie with such a promising premise could go so horribly wrong. The plot is a jumbled mess of confusing characters and a storyline that makes no sense. The acting is atrocious, with every single actor delivering a subpar performance. I've seen high school productions that were more convincing. The special effects are laughable, and the 'twists' are predictable and unoriginal. It's a total waste of time, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

I recently watched the second part of 'The Terrifying' with my sister, and she mentioned that the movie had a high rating, so we were excited to see it.
However, after watching for half an hour, we couldn't understand why people gave it such high ratings.
As we continued watching, we realized that the plot was a jumbled mess of confusing characters and a storyline that made no sense.
The main character, Cienna, is a high school student who lives with her strict mom and brother Jonathan. Cienna is connected to art, creating various design projects, but her mom doesn't really approve of that.
Her brother, on the other hand, is really into serial killers, which gets him a lot of negative attention from his family, and they even want to send him to therapy.
Meanwhile, in the town where the family lives, Halloween is approaching, and people are buying scary costumes and candy, while in the city, a deadly clown named Art is announced.
The brother and sister notice the return of the killer and try to warn the others, but not even their own mom believes them.
I'll start with the acting. It's absolutely terrible.
Everyone who acted in 'The Terrifying' performed their roles as poorly as humanly possible. The only one who actually managed to do their job 100% was the actor who played the psychopathic killer.
I was thoroughly unimpressed by the way the characters were portrayed. It felt like the actors had no idea what they were doing.
The most unbelievable storyline I've ever seen.
My sister was yelling and screaming for the entire 2.5 hours because we couldn't believe the ridiculous direction this game took.
The characters in this game are supposed to be ordinary people who would understand basic survival tactics, but they're so one-dimensional that even when Art takes them down in the most gruesome ways, you don't feel any sympathy for them.
Too disturbing images.
I'm not a prude, I've seen some seriously disturbing movies from Taiwanese and Indonesian productions, but these ones take the cake. The sheer level of gore and violence in 'Horror' is something else.
I've seen so many bloody and gruesome scenes that I'm still trying to shake off the feeling of disgust.
I noticed that the main antagonist has a weird fascination with slashing women's faces and dousing them in acid. It's weird that Art only targets women, not men. Maybe this clown is not only a psychopath but also a misogynist and sexophobe.
By the way, about the meat.
The special effects team must have gone out of their way to make the gore and blood look as unrealistic and cheap as possible. Maybe that's the point, I don't know.
Very graphic murder scenes.
I'm used to movies not showing children being harmed, but 'Horror' managed to slip that in. I'm guessing it was intentional to shock the audience.
We've seen it 40 times and still can't believe what we're watching. The ending finally came, and we were all relieved.
I have to admit, some other aspects of the movie really threw me off. The clown's torture scenes could drag on for hours, with the victim still somehow managing to stay alive. I mean, in reality, anyone would have died from shock at that point. It's clear that the creators of 'The Terrifying' didn't get it.
The pacing was way too slow.
For half the movie, you're just watching a bunch of nonsense, then it's a few brutal murders, and finally, it all wraps up in some ridiculously supernatural mess.
I'm still left with all these unanswered questions: 'What's going on? Why don't they just die? Why are the characters acting so stupid? What's with the weird ketchup substitute for blood?????'
Take an hour out of the movie and it wouldn't miss a beat. Although, if they'd never made it, we'd all be better off.
