I was really drawn to the book's cover. I take care of my books, always wrapping them up and making bookmarks with atlas tape so I can easily find my place. I also highlight interesting moments and thoughts with sticky notes. I wish I could make video reviews of books, but I think it's not a very popular topic. Who reads books these days? Not many, besides me. On my Dzen page, Mama Lvionka, books don't get many views.

She had the time to do an interesting job (yoga), see healers and shamans. I'm not on that wavelength, I'm an atheist, and my thinking is different. There were people who took care of my child while I was working, which meant I had resources.

Her first marriage was unsuccessful, her husband was an alcoholic, and her second husband was supportive and respectful, which is very important. He even encouraged her to have another child.
✍ Sisterhood in business
I like that the author talks about getting a gynecological check-up in a comfortable environment. Many women have bad experiences with gynecologists who are rude and insensitive.
✍ About the silicone breast
I have to say, in Russia, there's a big emphasis on breastfeeding for as long as possible. Ultimately, it's up to each mom to decide whether and how long to do it. The older the baby gets, the harder it is to wean them off. While there's a focus on breastfeeding, nobody really talks about how your breasts can lose their shape, and then you're left feeling self-conscious and less attractive – first and foremost, to yourself. And if you have the means, you can opt for surgery.

On page 224, the author talks about assets. I thought she'd be giving advice on how to increase your wealth, but it's actually about being an asset to the people in your life.

This is the first time I've heard of it. Every book says that moms need to find resources, get some rest, and ask for help. I wish I had someone to ask for help – I didn't get much sleep in the first year and wasn't always on top of things.

The author talks about this on page 266.

On page 234, the author talks about setting up a space with a water bottle, some paint, and a canvas, and then gradually working on a painting. I don't know, maybe my kid is just more energetic – they'd be fascinated by the bottle and probably break it. I'm tired of constantly cleaning up after them.

My takeaways are about finding balance and harmony in motherhood. As a single mom with a super active kid, I can relate to the struggles of navigating this path. The book offers valuable insights into the importance of self-care, finding inner strength, and being an asset to those around you.
I read 'The Path of Motherhood. The Birth of Strength.' by Olya Shustval. While it's helpful in many ways, I don't agree with everything the author says – I'm not a fan of astrology. Many parts of the book resonated with me on a deep level, though. There was a section about home births, although it wasn't explicitly stated. I'm pretty sure the author is against vaccinations, though.
