I stumbled upon an ad for this book online about a year ago, and I was seriously intrigued, so I started looking for reviews and then the book itself.
The reviews seemed positive, but the book is pricey, I'd say almost a thousand rubles, although it's not exactly thick.
I bought it at the "Читай Город" store!
It's pretty obvious why the price is so high, right? The thing is, this book is an educational one, and it's not just written by some writer or enthusiast, but by expert Bodo Schaefer, a successful person in financial matters! Books like this always cost a lot. Plus, it's got a label that says "this is the most readable children's book about money!"
To justify the pricey book, you've got to be sure it'll bring you huge benefits and help you get a good value for your money. And it's not just about getting your money back, it's also about saving and earning money, learning how to handle it, and investing it in the right places. It'll teach you how to make your money work for you, boost your self-esteem, and give you the confidence to take risks. I mean, there are people with multiple degrees who are still struggling, and then there are those with no formal education who've built successful businesses. I've always been amazed by that!
It wasn't until I got into network marketing that I discovered the existence of literature that teaches adults financial literacy! I wouldn't have found it otherwise. I'm really grateful to Orelim and Faberlic for introducing me to this world. I've only scratched the surface of financial literature, but I can already see its incredible value! I just never realized it before, and I didn't think it was possible to go from being poor to rich – you've got to learn and change yourself fundamentally! This book is similar to "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," and I agree with that assessment.
The thing is, our generation – the 90s kids – are financially illiterate. Our parents didn't have the luxury of worrying about finances; they just had to survive. They couldn't afford to think about books, finances, or any of that. And we didn't learn anything from them, so we can't pass it on to our own kids. But now, we've got a chance to break the cycle and become a little wealthier with the help of specialized literature! Of course, the wealthy are making money off their secrets by writing books, but we still need books to get ahead!
Times have changed, but the question of survival remains the same. There's a huge gap between the rich and the poor, and it's not just about their characters, habits, or education – it's about their entire mindset, interests, and more! This kind of literature provides a ladder, a bridge that helps you climb up, opens the curtains, and reveals the secrets of the wealthy. It shows you their habits, lifestyle, and relationship with money, and helps you identify and correct your own mistakes. You get to see how they do things, and learn from their examples!
I've gotta say, it's awesome that coaches are now thinking about teaching kids about money and financial literacy from a young age. I'm super happy that they're making it accessible to kids in a way that's fun and engaging! They've done a great job of putting all the secrets, rules, and explanations into an entertaining story with a dog named Mani and a girl as the main characters.
The idea is pure genius - kids won't be bored reading just numbers, rules, and schemes. They need a story, and what's more interesting than animals, especially dogs?

But then, a miracle happens, and her parents manage to move into a house, and they get a dog. But they also face huge financial problems! I bought the book yesterday and already finished it! I think it's essential for parents to read something before giving it to their kids, so I decided to read it first. I couldn't put it down - I was thrilled with the explanations, and I learned a lot myself. Now, it's time to put it into practice!

When I was reading this book, I didn't feel like it was a kids' book. It's more suitable for pre-teens and older kids, as it's written in a way that's easy for them to understand, without using complicated words or phrases.
This book is just as useful for adults as it is for kids! So, I'd recommend it to everyone. Kids will develop good habits, understanding, and a healthy attitude towards money.

The font is medium-sized and easy to read.
These black-and-white pictures are actually geared towards older kids. Toddlers will probably find them a bit of a snooze.
I think it's safe to say that this book is geared towards kids aged 10-12, mainly because the main character is 12 years old. That's around the age when kids start getting pocket money and wanting to buy everything in sight!
One tiny flaw is that all the examples are based on the American system, with dollar signs and banks. Even I had a hard time converting the prices to rubles, so parents will need to explain it to their kids. And, of course, the stock market and investing are probably better suited for older kids.
But hey, there's a dictionary and a preface for adults too! The content is at the back of the book, and it's 190 pages long.
I highly recommend reading this book, even if you can't afford to buy it. And it makes for a great birthday gift, because who doesn't want to be rich?
