I'll be honest - whether or not a playpen is a necessary purchase for a kid is a decision that every parent has to make for themselves. Some people swear by them, while others think they're a waste of money and end up using them as a storage unit for toys.
For us, buying a playpen wasn't a luxury, it was a necessity. Our little one was outgrowing their bassinet, and we only had a one-bedroom apartment. We needed a playpen that doubled as a crib, and that's exactly what we got with the Sweet Baby Intelletto 5 in 1 Playpen.
