Budget-Friendly Stellary Lipsticks: A Hidden Gem or Disappointment? My Honest Review of 6 Shades

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently discovered Stellary lipsticks at Magnet Cosmetics, and I'm still deciding if they're a hidden gem or a disappointment. The affordable prices drew me in, but the quality and variety of shades left me feeling mixed. I've got 8 lipsticks from Stellary, and I'll break down the good and the bad in this review. From the packaging to the formula, I'll give you the lowdown on these budget-friendly lipsticks. Overall, I think they're a solid option for those on a budget, but they may not offer the same level of quality and selection as higher-end brands.

I discovered Stellary lipsticks at the Magnet Cosmetics store, and I was immediately drawn to their affordable prices. The brand offers a wide range of products, but I'll be focusing on the Long Lasting Lipstick and Creamy Lips series, as they seem to be the most popular.
Let's start with the packaging and price:
The price is around 130 rubles, which is incredibly cheap. The packaging is a matte black plastic case with a rose gold trim, and I think it's a great value for the price.
I was really impressed with the scent of the Stellary lipsticks - it's pleasant, slightly sweet, and doesn't linger on the lips.
At first glance, it seems like there are plenty of shades to choose from, but many of them are very similar, and all of them are some variation of a pink-red color. So, you don't really have a lot to choose from, since nobody needs shades that are too similar to each other.
I have 8 lipsticks from Stellary in total: 6 with a standard creamy finish and 2 matte. Today, I'll be focusing on the first 6. I have 4 shades from the Long Lasting Lipstick series and 2 from the Creamy Lips series.
, but, again, I don't see any difference between these two formulas at all. In fact, I had no idea I even had lipsticks from two different series until I checked the official Stellary website to see which shades I had.Let's start with the first swatch on my hand:
1. Shade 05 Rose Nectar - a pretty weird name for a lipstick that's actually a coral-red color.
Honestly, I just don't get along with this shade at all. It's just too dark of a coral color - it makes me look older and doesn't brighten me up at all. It applies well and doesn't feather. When it comes to longevity, I have to say that none of the lipsticks from the Long Lasting Lipstick series live up to their name. They're not at all long-lasting - they get eaten away really quickly.2. 31 Rose Quartz
I was close to loving this peachy nude, but the formula has some major flaws. The lipstick specifically bleeds. This is a common issue with light shades, and the rose quartz is no exception. And if you've got any dryness on your lips, it'll accentuate it for sure.3. 14. Sugar Plum (my first purchase from Stellari) - a slightly muted pink shade.
This is a great everyday pink. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.4. 23 Dried Rose - my favorite shade.
This is a great darker nude for everyday wear. The formula is decent, but the lipstick isn't very long-lasting.5. 28. Jam Jelly from the Creamy Lips series.
I'd call this one the older sister of the 23 Dried Rose lipstick. The Jam Jelly has a more brownish-wine shade, a bit darker, but with the same beige base. It's a really rich shade, perfect for a night out. The formula is the same as the Long Lasting Lipstick.6. 37 Strawberry Sorbet - also from the Creamy Lips series, a nice raspberry-pink shade.
One big NO - this shade has a weird, 'see-through' formula that's way too creamy, and your natural lip color will show through. I could've written that off as a creamy formula, but the previous shade from this series didn't have this issue.Honestly, with all the lip glosses I've talked about, I'd recommend using a lip liner - either to define the contour or all over the lip line - because these glosses are super creamy, and some are even super sticky. A liner is necessary for a more precise application and longer wear.
Another big plus is that the gloss doesn't dry out my lips, which is a huge deal, especially during the cold winter months.
I'd give this gloss a solid 3.5 out of 5. It's not super expensive, and it's not going to compete with some of the higher-end lip glosses out there. But it's a great value for the price. Would I buy more from Stellari in the future? Probably not, since I don't see any more interesting shades for me. But if they release new colors, I'll definitely take a look.
Ultimately, it's up to you to decide. I just hope I could help in some way.
