I'm absolutely loving these Sokolov jewelry pieces - they're a breath of fresh air compared to the Soviet-style and grandma-inspired designs that seem to be stuck in time with our local jewelry makers.

The inlay work is seriously impressive. The silver bird figurine is adorned with a scattering of closely-packed small round fianites. The head and tail are done in black stones, the underside in white, and the bird's belly is a large, teardrop-shaped magenta stone.
The clasp is a twist-lock pomegranate - and it's a total showstopper.

From a distance, these earrings are seriously cute - they're a great conversation starter and add a touch of whimsy to any outfit.
The problem is, they're just too hard to put in. You've got to screw them in like little hooks, which is super tricky when you can't see what you're doing.
It's tough to get the hook into the two tiny holes on the back of the earring, and it takes a while to get it just right. Another issue is that the 'hook' itself is pretty thick, and it's got a blunt end because of the threading. This makes it pretty uncomfortable to put in your ear.
I've got a bit of a tricky ear piercing, and these earrings are just too big and clumsy for me. I'm not a fan of earrings that have a thick, blunt end - it's just not comfortable.
I've even had trouble getting them in after a few days without taking them out, and I've been trying to get them in for ages.
