A Cautionary Tale: Why My Corallas Hated the S Dochkoi Narevelis A Vse Okazalos - A Review

summarizeEditor's Summary

I recently tried the S Dochkoi Narevelis A Vse Okazalos bird food for my corallas, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I bought this food as recommended, but the second time I decided to try a different product from the same brand. I was excited to see how it would compare, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The packaging is impressive, with a dense, sturdy design and a window to check the grain quality. However, the product itself was a major letdown. I'll share my honest thoughts on the pros and cons below.

Hello there!
I recently tried the S Dochkoi Narevelis A Vse Okazalos food for my corallas, and it was a bit of a wild ride.
I bought this food for the first time as recommended, and for the second time I decided to buy the same brand but a slightly different product. I was excited to see how it would compare.
It's available at Ozon, which is a popular online retailer in Russia.
The weight of the product is 850 g, and the price is around 653 ₽.
The packaging is really impressive - it's dense, sturdy, and beautifully designed. You can even see the grain through a window, which is a nice touch.
This was a major selling point for me, as I wanted to be able to check the quality of the product before opening it.
Unfortunately, the labeling is a bit confusing - it would be great if they could break down the ingredients and their proportions for us.
The manufacturer is an Italian company, which gives me some confidence in the quality of the product.
The appearance of the product is okay, but I was expecting a bit more variety in the ingredients.
We started giving this food to our daughter without expecting any issues, but then we noticed puddles at the bottom of the cage instead of the usual solid poop.
At first, we thought it was just a minor issue, but things took a turn for the worse.
It was a Saturday evening, our car was out of commission, and we were both in tears, frantically searching online for solutions.
When I first started observing the droppings of my corallas, I was surprised to see a mix of transparent liquid, white uric acid crystals, and light-colored feces. The color of the feces can vary depending on what they're eating.
And it's not just diarrhea!
The droppings of healthy corallas are usually dark green or brownish in color, depending on their diet.
If the droppings are uniform and don't separate into different fractions (i.e., they're liquid or semi-liquid), it's a sign that the coralla has diarrhea.
In our coralla's enclosure, we have a layer of paper at the bottom, and it's not just puddles – there are wet spots with greenish fecal matter in the middle. And the coralla just keeps running to the water bowl...
Why is my coralla so thirsty?...
And why does she spit out excess seeds after drinking water?...
Maybe she's overeating...
Maybe it's thirst...
Just like my cat, sometimes when she really loves her food, she'll overeat and regurgitate it...
Despite all this, the coralla remains active, screaming, running on her perches, napping on one leg, eating, and then scraping her beak – all good signs.
Could it be kidney issues?
Polyuria (excessive urination) in corallas is often linked to kidney problems.
We can't just remove the food from the coralla's reach, as we've only had them for a while, and they're still getting used to their new environment – it would cause unnecessary stress...
So we decided to try removing this food from their diet and switching back to another one.
The next day, she started drinking less water, and her droppings started to form – there was almost no liquid left.
But my daughter accidentally gave them this food again. I didn't know, as she helps me feed the corallas when I'm busy.
When I noticed the puddles again, I was initially worried, but then I looked at the food dishes, and there was sunflower seed, which isn't in the second food at all.
Well, I hid that food away in a cabinet, and we started keeping a closer eye on the coralla.
The situation started to normalize.
Interestingly, our second coralla, a male, didn't exhibit the same issue – he was fine.
So we started gradually reintroducing the food.
Maybe it's too rich, or maybe it's something else, but the coralla started drinking a lot of water again.
And the wet spots in the enclosure came back.
⭐ Conclusion
Corallas love this food, but it's not suitable for everyone!
I've gotta keep an eye on my cat's reaction to this food, since it's all about the grain and lacks the dried fruits and veggies, plus way too much sunflower oil.
So, I'd advise being cautious with this one.
I'm taking off a star due to the lack of a specific grain and seed list in the ingredients, but overall, I still recommend it!
4 stars!
👌🏼
