Calming Face Mask with Mugwort Extract by Round Lab

I've tried a bunch of face masks, but this one from Round Lab really delivers. It's got mugwort extract, which is known for its calming properties, and it's super easy to apply - just slap it on and relax. The sheet mask design is great for getting a good dose of hydration, and my skin feels amazing after using it. If you're looking for a way to calm stressed skin, this is a great option. The calming properties of mugwort extract help soothe and calm irritated skin, reducing redness and inflammation. Plus, it's gentle enough for sensitive skin types, so you don't have to worry about any harsh chemicals or irritation.

Round Lab's Calming Face Mask Fails to Impress

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was really hoping Round Lab's Mugwort Calming Sheet Mask would help calm my skin down, but unfortunately, it underwhelmed me. The mask left me with tiny red spots on my nose and some bumps around my smile, which is not what I expect from a product claiming to soothe irritated skin. The packaging is nice, but the actual mask was pretty disappointing. I've used cheaper masks that had a similar effect, so it's hard to recommend this one. If you're looking for a good sheet mask, I'd suggest exploring other options. I got this mask in the GoldAppleBOX Befree 2.0 cosmetic box, which has some great products, but this one was a letdown. I've tried a bunch of sheet masks in the past, and some of them have really helped with my skin issues. But this one just didn't cut it for me. It's not the worst product I've ever used, but it's definitely not the best either. I'd say it's just an okay product that doesn't live up to its claims.

I recently gave Round Lab's Mugwort Calming Sheet Mask a try, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The mask left me with tiny red spots on my nose and some bumps around my smile. I thought it was time to give my skin some TLC with this mask, hoping it would help reduce the redness and calm my skin down. Unfortunately, the mask was pretty underwhelming, and the effect was similar to those cheap masks you find at a budget price.
I got this mask in the GoldAppleBOX Befree 2.0 cosmetic box, which is really cool and has a lot of great products. The packaging is a standard rectangular box that's pretty dense and matte. The background is white, and the text is in Korean. There's a picture of mugwort fields and how to care for them.
The back has information in English and Korean. There's a white sticker with Russian text. The mask comes in a standard rectangular package.
Description:
This facial mask is supposed to be a game-changer for replenishing moisture and soothing irritated skin. The chamomile extract calms and maintains a healthy complexion. Madecassoside, azelaic acid, madecassic acid, and azelaic acid help reduce sensitivity, fortify the skin's barrier, and regenerate. It's perfect for sensitive and problem skin. The cotton material of the mask provides a sense of softness and comfort.
The expiration date is listed at the bottom, which is good until 2027. The mask has cut-out sections on the sides. When I unfolded the mask, I was surprised by its slightly thinner density. It doesn't come with a backing, but it's easy to unfold and doesn't stretch out when you put it on your face. The cut-outs are in the right places. The material is soft and sticks closely to your skin during the treatment, without peeling off.
Serum is super lightweight and transparent. It's basically just a liquid like water, but with a softer, gentler texture thanks to all the good stuff in it. It absorbs quickly without any stickiness.
I applied the sheet mask to my clean face. You can put a toner on first to help the ingredients penetrate better. I like to chill the mask in the fridge before applying it to my face for an extra cooling effect. At first, it's nice and refreshing, but as my skin warms up, the cooling effect wears off pretty quickly. I love masks that keep the cooling going for a while – it really helps to smooth out wrinkles and reduce puffiness. This one was just okay, though.
The serum doesn't last long, so you get one use out of the mask. I applied the leftover serum to my neck and décolletage. The serum is nice and lightweight, so it's comfortable to wear during the treatment. But, it absorbs into my skin really quickly, so I have to be careful not to leave it on for too long – 10-15 minutes is about all I can handle.
After I remove the mask, I let the serum sit on my skin for a couple of minutes. Even though there's no liquid left on my face and no stickiness from the mask either, my skin feels smoothed out, it's silky smooth. But, it's not like, wow. It's just average. I've used cheaper masks that worked way better. It doesn't completely smooth out my skin, there's no real tightening effect. I didn't notice any calming effect, and it doesn't reduce redness either. It just makes my skin feel smooth and slightly moisturized. The moisturizing effect is pretty minimal, so I need to follow up with a cream to lock it in. Otherwise, my skin will feel dry again a few hours later.
This mask is great for summer or before applying makeup. It's a quick fix to smooth out my skin. It's just a simple mask, not worth the price.

What I liked:
The design is nice, and the material is soft and pleasant to use. The serum is lightweight and non-greasy, and it absorbs quickly without any stickiness. It's great for makeup, especially in the summer. It does make my skin feel smooth and slightly moisturized.
What I didn't like:
The mask didn't calm my skin, and the redness didn't fade. The moisturizing effect is weak, and the price is too high for a single use. The effect is pretty weak, and I've found better masks with a more pleasant price tag.
Verdict: Round Lab's Mugwort Calming Sheet Mask is a mediocre product at best. I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering the price. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars.

* I've gotta say, the Darling bamboo extract face mask was a pleasant surprise. I loved the texture and the way it made my skin feel.
* The PAYOT Water Power face mask for hydration was another fave of mine. The extract really helped lock in moisture.
That's a wrap!
Thanks for tuning in, folks!
