Reginox Dental Animal Oral Care Healing Gel

I've tried a bunch of oral care products for my furry friends, but Reginox Dental's healing gel really stands out. It's specifically designed to keep their teeth and gums in top shape, which means fewer vet visits down the line. I love that it's easy to use - just apply the gel to their teeth and gums, and it'll do the rest. The results are amazing, and I can see the difference in their overall health. Plus, it's a great value for money.

My Cat's Gingivitis Struggle: A Disappointing Experience with Reginox Dental Gel

summarizeEditor's Summary

My cat got a nasty case of gingivitis after a tooth came in, and I was totally at my wit's end. I've dealt with dental issues in cats before, and I know how frustrating it can be. I tried Reginox Dental Gel, but it just didn't quite live up to my expectations. I've tried a few other products, but this one didn't seem to do the trick. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I haven't seen any improvement. My cat still has red, inflamed gums, and it's just really sad. I'm still searching for a solution that will really help my poor kitty's gums.

My Cat's Gingivitis Struggle: A Disappointing Experience with Reginox Dental Gel
My cat got a nasty case of gingivitis after a tooth came in, and I was at my wit's end. But after doing some research, I found out that it's a pretty common thing in cats - just like the stinky breath. It's a normal issue, especially when they're teething or have a dental problem.
The gums were all red and inflamed, and I knew I had to do something to help my poor kitty. I started by trying to figure out what was causing the problem and how to treat it. I looked into various products and treatments, but nothing seemed to be working.
Before trying Reginox Dental gel, I'd already tried a few other products - Dentavedin from Veda (which didn't work at all) and Metrogil Denta (which I could only use a couple of times because it made my cat's mouth water like crazy). I was desperate to find something that would work, so I decided to give Reginox a shot.
The ingredients in Reginox Dental gel include Water, PVP, Glycerin, Chlorhexidine, and Secretom-NS, a protein-peptide complex derived from mesenchymal stem cells. I was impressed by the list of ingredients and thought that this product might actually be able to help my cat.
PVP is used as a gelling agent to prolong the release of active ingredients, allowing them to act locally and for a longer period at the site of inflammation. Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic that's great for killing bacteria and reducing inflammation. Secretom-NS enhances local immunity, triggers the regeneration and restoration of functional tissue, and helps to speed up the healing process.
Chlorhexidine works great as an antiseptic and has bactericidal properties - exactly what we need to combat gingivitis. This gel isn't a toothpaste, but it promises a lot:
Helps with oral mucosa regeneration, speeding up healing after inflammation, injuries, and surgeries. Reduces the risk of oral diseases: periodontitis, parodontosis, stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontitis, and other pathologies. Assists in the post-operative period, lowering the risk of complications after surgical interventions. Eliminates bad breath and maintains oral cavity health.
The doctor prescribed something that matches this product's claims, so I was hopeful that it would work. The main advantage of the gel lies in its specific texture - it's sticky and viscous, like glue, so it will work a bit longer than regular ointments.
It provides reliable fixation thanks to its adhesive formula, which prolongs the action of active components. This is especially important for cats, as they tend to lick and chew at their gums, which can disrupt the treatment.
It has no smell or taste, which is especially important for animals - not every ointment will suit them. I was relieved to find that my cat didn't seem to mind the texture or smell of the gel.
To apply the gel, I squeezed a small amount onto my finger and spread it thinly across my cat's cheek, right up against the gums. Same thing on the other side. I had to be careful not to get any of the gel in my cat's eyes or mouth.
Applying the gel requires a lot of patience, especially when it comes to doing dental procedures on kittens. My cat was not happy about the whole process, but I tried to make it as painless as possible.
After applying, you need to limit their access to food and water for 20 minutes. The cat will try to lick itself, and that's good too - it'll spread the stuff around their mouth better with its tongue.
The gel is well-tolerated - no active salivation. I was relieved to find that my cat didn't seem to have any adverse reactions to the gel.
About the effect: unfortunately, this gel didn't do the trick for my cat's gingivitis. It didn't help at all as a treatment. I was hoping for some improvement after a week, but I didn't see any reduction in the smell or the inflammation. And it didn't even help with the bleeding, so I've put the gel in the back of the cabinet.
Country of origin: Russia Price: 650 rubles Product weight: 10g. That's ridiculously little for the price. And considering its ingredients, it's basically a rip-off.
I've already used up half of it in the first week - I applied it to my cat's gums twice a day. During the treatment, I took my cat to the vet to rule out any viral infections, but it turned out to be calicivirus. The comprehensive treatment - antivirals, antibiotics, and human pharmacy mouthwashes - did the job. But gingivitis is a pesky thing - it doesn't go away quickly. Now, I have to do regular oral care to avoid making things worse.
I tried to use the gel again, this time just as a mouthwash, but exactly a day later, my cat's mouth smell came back. So, my verdict: it's just an overpriced and useless mouthwash.
I would not recommend this product to anyone who's looking for a solution to their cat's gingivitis. There are better options out there that are more effective and affordable.
I'm extremely disappointed with Reginox Dental gel. It promised a lot, but delivered nothing. I'm glad that I was able to find a better solution for my cat's gingivitis, but I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Rating: 1/5 stars.
Pros: None.
Cons: Overpriced, ineffective, and useless.
