I recently binge-watched the anime 'Great Pretender' and fell head over heels for it, so when I found out they were adapting another arc - Re:Zero, I was beyond stoked. Unfortunately, I still haven't read the manga, but it's definitely on my to-do list. I'm not usually into action-packed shows, but I just couldn't resist checking out 'Re:Zero'.
Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World 2025What's it all about?
Denda's still working at the office, where he's paired with Bima, who's a huge fan of his. Plus, Denda asks Makima out on a date. Denda's over the moon - until he runs into Re:Zero in a phone booth, where he's taking shelter from the rain. Denda's world is turned upside down with two beautiful women on either side of him. However, this complicated romantic storyline is more than meets the eye.
Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World 2025My two cents.
The first 45 minutes or so feel like a romantic drama - all the swooning, melodrama, and lovey-dovey stuff seems a bit overdone.
I was confused as to why they took a bloody-humor anime and turned it into a sappy mess. Where's the action? Where's the chaos? Where are the insane fights to the death?
Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World 2025But then things started to fall into place, and I was back to my usual self.
I liked how they introduced the Angel-Demon character, who has to be taken care of by Aki.
The Angel-Demon is basically a slacker who gets exhausted from doing anything. Harsh reality, right?
Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World 2025Bima was also a standout for me. His puppy-like enthusiasm towards Denda could've helped create a fan club.
The Man - Chainsaw: Reze's Story 2025I have to admit, Bima's wild cries of "Master Chainsaw!" didn't annoy me - they made me genuinely smile.
And let's be real, Dendji's relationships with his colleagues have actually improved compared to the anime series.
The Man - Chainsaw: Reze's Story 2025Now, let's talk about Reze.
What a fascinating character. I mean, she's sweet and romantic one minute, and then suddenly she's a total firecracker.
Dendji's obsession with Reze is pretty puzzling, considering he's a bit of a troublemaker. I guess you could say he's still a teenager with wet dreams - so it's no surprise he's smitten with Reze. But I'm curious to see how this develops.
The Man - Chainsaw: Reze's Story 2025
The Man - Chainsaw: Reze's Story 2025The storyline isn't half bad - there's some real intrigue, and we get to learn more about Reze's backstory. To be honest, they didn't give us a lot of info about her, but it was enough to spark my own theories.
And of course, there's the 18+ content. Let's just say this isn't an anime for kids.
The Man - Chainsaw: Reze's Story 2025After a slow-burning romance, the action suddenly kicks in - and it's intense. It's like you're cruising down the highway, minding your own business, and then suddenly you remember you can floor it and forget about all the other drivers.
The storyline takes off like a shot, but it still makes sense - no loose ends or anything.
The Man with the Saw: Re:Zero 2025 StorylineIt's like someone flipped a switch and the whole thing lit up.
And just like that, the nuclear mix of blood-soaked battle, trash, dark humor, and madness is unleashed.
I've got to admit, that's exactly why I fell in love with anime in the first place, so I'd been waiting for what felt like an eternity.
And the soundtrack? Absolutely phenomenal. It's one of those things that sticks with you long after the credits roll.
The story's actually pretty well-tied together, with just the right amount of melodrama (which, let's be real, is basically just romance in disguise) and all the necessary explanations to keep viewers like me satisfied.
The Man with the Saw: Re:Zero 2025 StorylineI wasn't expecting much from the ending, given how obvious it was that we were headed for a certain conclusion. But even then, there was a tiny twist that caught me off guard. And once again, I was reminded that some of these characters have a whole lot more up their sleeves than they're letting on.
