Hello everyone!
I'm super stoked to share my review of the Polaroid meat grinder/terker.
I've been using it for a while now, and I'm absolutely blown away by this purchase!
I picked it up at Techprom in Kirovo-Chepetsk for 6,000 rubles, but it was on sale for 3,800 – what a steal!
The box is black and sturdy, and it comes with the product itself, along with some info from the manufacturer.
The package includes everything you need to get started, and I'm not exaggerating – it's a total game-changer!
The meat grinder itself is already assembled, and you get a separate package with a coarse and fine grating disc.
The main part of the meat grinder is a beautiful stainless steel color – it's not heavy, but it's super stable and has rubber feet.
As for assembly, I had a bit of a struggle attaching the terker – let's just say it took me a few attempts to get it right.
Pro tip: when using the terker, try feeding the ingredients directly into a bag while holding it in place – trust me, you don't want a repeat of my first attempt, where I just placed a plate underneath and ended up with a mini-snowstorm of swede and carrots covering my kitchen walls. My son was thrilled, but I'm not sure I was.
I seal the bags with the shreds of carrots and toss them in the freezer.
The shredder itself is a total winner – it's even, not too coarse, and super easy to use!
Now, the downsides:
- it gets clogged really quickly and starts to get a bit temperamental
- it doesn't fully chop everything, leaving a lot behind
But I'm still super happy with it!
The plastic pusher is great – it's sturdy, and I don't worry about breaking it.
I haven't tried the second attachment, the slicer, as I don't really need it. Maybe someday I'll use it to make thinly sliced potatoes, but not now.
Let's move on to the meat grinder.
I had a bit of a struggle assembling it – it took me a while to get it into the grooves. But I think I'll get the hang of it eventually!
I chose the fine grater and made a delicious eggplant caviar.
It chops quickly and quietly – I'm seriously impressed!
And, by the way, it's not that loud! I put my kid to bed, and then I went to the kitchen to make some eggplant. I made the eggplant, and my kid was still sleeping!
Just like with the grater, a lot gets left behind, but I don't see that as a huge minus for me.
Another plus is the reverse function. You press the button the other way, and everything that got stuck inside comes back out, and then you can keep working as usual.
The meat tray is great – it's made of sturdy plastic, it's transparent, and it's big enough! It's easy to clean too.
I'm sitting here, feeling happy and content, with a full fridge of carrot and beetroot hummus, and a delicious eggplant caviar ready to go!
Thanks for inventing something of such high quality!
Thanks for watching and the thumbs up, by the way!
Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!
