Backstory:

I (like many people, I assume) had already mentally prepared myself to think that Pereson is a well-established brand where they won't mess things up. Although I'd never been to any of their salons before.

So, when I needed a haircut ASAP, I decided to choose the nearest salon and saw the familiar name. The price is pretty reasonable – between 2000 and 2500 rubles, depending on the stylist's level (master or top-master). Okay, I booked an appointment just 20 minutes before my scheduled time, although in my favorite salons, it's not that easy to get in on short notice.

I booked an appointment with one stylist on their website, but just a minute later, the administrator called me and said, 'You're okay with it if another stylist does your hair?' I agreed, no problem.

My impressions of the salon:

The atmosphere in the salon is nice. There are new bags displayed for sale everywhere. Behind the reception desk, there are bottles of hair care products on display, which they'll later try to sell you on and offer you a 'deal you can't refuse'.

Next to the receptionist, there's a porter helping you take off your jacket and putting it in the cloakroom.

Everything looks pretty professional, and you start thinking you're lucky to be there.

And what about the procedures...

Initially, the stylist and I work together to choose the right haircut, then we move on to washing my hair. At this point, the stylist starts offering additional hair care services, but they don't pressure me into getting them.

Next, we move on to drying, and the stylist starts straightening my hair with a flat iron (to be honest, I'd never experienced that before. Maybe it's because I chose a straight haircut, and my hair is wavy. But previously, wet hair was always cut, not straightened).

The stylist spent a long time cutting my hair by hand, not using a machine. Then she said, 'All done.' I think to myself, 'Wait, where's the styling?' And she starts saying, 'Let me show you how to do trendy curls we discussed.' She does a curl on one strand and asks, 'How's that, cool?' I agree. And then she straightens it. My hair is pretty stiff, and she has to do it about 20 times on the same strand to get it straight. I couldn't take it anymore and said, 'That's it.'

I was expecting something more from this place, but I guess they just straightened my hair and called it a day. In other salons in this price range, they've always done my hair in some decent style. But not here.

When I went to pay, the admin told me the total was 2500 rubles – I guess I got a top-notch stylist. I mentioned it was my first time here and they gave me a 500-ruble discount.

How they did it originallyAfter I left the salon...

My friend, who we were supposed to meet up with, looked at my hair and said it was all wrong. I thought maybe it was just the coat I was wearing, so I waited till I got home and washed it. But it was still all wrong.

So I took some photos and posted them on Instagram, but I didn't hear back for two days. Eventually, I called them and left a complaint.

I wanted to get my hair done, but I couldn't make it to their location that week. I asked if I could get it fixed at another branch, but they said no – they needed to verify that the mistake was the stylist's fault. They said I could come back and they'd fix it for free, but only if they could confirm the issue.

So, the admin agreed to schedule me with another stylist at a time that suited me.

The fixed versionI went back, explained the situation, and the new stylist – a nice girl – washed and styled my hair to fix the damage. She then called the admin and another woman over (I'm not sure if she was the owner or not). The admin took photos of the whole thing in 360 degrees. The woman said, 'Okay, fix it,' but the admin said, 'Let's just wash her hair and be done with it.' The woman disagreed, saying, 'No, just straighten it and style it.'

So, they ended up steaming my hair twice in one go. And the next day, I had to wash it all over again, so the second steaming was basically pointless. And as for the hair damage... let's just say I'm not going to mention it.

I have to say, the stylist was super efficient - they blow-dried my hair, cut it with the clippers, took photos, and even showed me to make sure there were no issues.

Ever had those pesky hairs after a salon visit?)Okay, I'm good, time to get dressed. And considering I wasted my time and was embarrassed for a few days - no complimentary treatment was offered. And this is all for services that cost more than the market rate.

The Verdict:

I'm definitely giving this place a wide berth from now on, because the service wasn't worth it. It's not even just the stylist who messed up - the way the salon was managed played a huge role in leaving a bad impression.
