My Honest Take on the Open Banking Mobile App

summarizeEditor's Summary

I've been using the Open Banking salary card for a year now, and the mobile app has been a mixed bag. Logging in can be a real pain, but once you're in, you can access all the card's features. I'm still figuring out how to get the most out of it, but I'm hopeful it'll become a game changer. The app is free to download, and it's a relatively small file size, which is a plus. However, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired – it feels a bit glitchy, especially when it comes to logging in. I've had some issues with the app freezing or crashing, and the customer support team could be more proactive in addressing these problems. Still, I'm giving it a chance, and I'm hoping it'll improve over time.

Hello everyone!
I've had my Open Banking salary card for a year now, and I gotta say, it's been a real adventure. My employer uses it to drop my paychecks, but lately, I've been relying pretty heavily on Sberbank's Visa card. Today, I want to share my thoughts on the Open Banking mobile app – it's the key to unlocking all the card's features.
The app is free to download from the Play Store, and I'm an Android user, so that's my experience. iOS folks can download it too. It's a pretty big app, but it downloads quick.
Logging In
Logging in is a total pain – you gotta come up with a four-digit code, and then you're asked for it again, and again, and again... I thought it was my phone's issue, but my coworkers have the same problem. Guess it's just the app being a bit glitchy.
The main screen shows your card balance, plus the bonus rubles you earn for using your card – it's like Sberbank's rewards system, but not as sweet. You can also check the exchange rates for dollars and euros.
In the personal account section, you can find info on completed payments and transfers.
I love the 'Help' section – I've reached out a few times, and they respond super fast, usually within a few minutes. It doesn't feel like I'm talking to bots; it's real people.
There are all the usual offers – loans, mortgages, and more...
I like that you can pay for utility bills, including those with a QR code – it's almost instant.
Transferring money from Sberbank to my Open Banking card comes with a pretty hefty fee – 2000 rubles for a 20,000-ruble transfer, for example. But there's a limit – you can transfer up to 10,000 rubles per month without any fees.
When you make a payment or transfer, you'll get an electronic receipt – it's a must-have. And, surprisingly, the money transfers quickly, even though the app says it'll take 3 days.
“˜žŸ˜ ™š˜ ™ž˜ 3 ˜žšž˜.
The Verdict
I'd recommend the app, but it's got some major flaws. The frequent crashes and freezes are a total turn-off. Sberbank's online banking is way better and safer in that regard.
💙💙💙
The Open Banking mobile app's got its pros and cons. On the one hand, it's free to download, and the main screen shows your card balance and bonus rubles. You can also check exchange rates and pay for utility bills with a QR code. The 'Help' section is responsive, and you can find info on completed payments and transfers in the personal account section.
On the other hand, the app's got some major issues – frequent crashes and freezes, and a super annoying login process. Transferring money from Sberbank to your Open Banking card comes with a hefty fee, and the app says it'll take 3 days, but the money transfers fast.
Despite its flaws, I'd still recommend the app to anyone who needs to access their Open Banking card features. Just be prepared for some frustration with the login process and occasional crashes.
I hope the devs will address these issues soon and make the app more user-friendly.
