Not the Best Choice for Our Roads - A Cautionary Tale

summarizeEditor's Summary

I was super stoked to try out this tire model from 2014, but it turned out to be a total letdown. At first, it handled like a pro on snowy and asphalt roads, but a single rock hit and I was left with two nasty bruises. The sidewall was way too soft, and the mechanic warned me it was only a matter of time before I got more damage. If you live in an area with smooth roads, you might be okay, but for Russia's bumpy roads, this tire's a total no-go.

I was super excited to try out this new tire model from 2014. Everyone was raving about it, and it was designed specifically for Russia's roads. I picked it up for 4320 rubles back in 2014, and at first, it was a real improvement. The first snowfall was a breeze, and my car handled like a pro on both snowy and asphalt roads. The noise level was actually lower than my old Bridgestones.
But then disaster struck. I was cruising along at 80 km/h when I hit a small rock. It wasn't a huge deal, but it shook the car a bit. When I got home, I took a closer look, and sure enough, there were two nice-sized bruises on the front and back tires. I took it to the tire shop, and the mechanic told me that the sidewall was super soft and not suitable for our roads. He said it was only a matter of time before I got more bruises. So, if you live in an area with smooth roads, you might be happy with this tire. But if you've got potholes and rocks everywhere, you might want to consider something with a sturdier sidewall. Repairs can cost upwards of 700 rubles per tire.
After a season of use, I was impressed that I didn't lose a single lug nut. That's a testament to its build quality, I guess. Still, I'm not sure if it's worth the risk.

Is this tire suitable for Russia's roads?

Unfortunately, no. The sidewall is too soft, and the tire is prone to damage from small rocks and potholes. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a more durable option.

Actually, it handles surprisingly well on snowy roads, with minimal noise and great traction. But be warned, it's not perfect, and you may still experience some issues with icy roads.

The warranty is decent, covering me for a reasonable amount of time. However, it's not as comprehensive as I'd like, and I had to deal with some issues when I needed help.

Is this tire worth the money?

Honestly, no. The value for money is a major issue, considering the poor quality and short lifespan. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a more affordable option.

Yes, but be aware that the return process may be a hassle. I'd recommend checking the return policy before making a purchase.

Surprisingly well, actually. The tire handles smoothly, and the speed is decent. However, be aware that it's not perfect, and you may still experience some issues with potholes and uneven roads.
