Manstor Network Filter MN-LD019-2P
Bought a Network Filter That Wasn't What I Expected
summarizeEditor's Summary
I thought I'd found a sweet deal on a network filter for my home, but things didn't quite go as planned. The seller claimed it was a Jamar network filter, and the pics looked legit. But when I got it home and opened it up, I was surprised to find it was just a bunch of wires connected directly - no filter at all. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.

live_helpFeatured FAQ
Is this network filter any good?
Honestly, no. I was expecting a real filter, but it's just a bunch of wires connected directly. If you're looking for a decent network filter, keep looking.
Can I return it if I'm not satisfied?
Unfortunately, no. The seller doesn't offer returns, which is a major red flag.
Is it safe to use?
I wouldn't say it's safe, exactly. The cable is pretty thin, and the thermal cutoff is at 10 amps, which isn't exactly reassuring.
What's with the smart chip?
I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. The seller claims it's got some kind of protection against overloading, but I'm not convinced.
Can I use it as an extension cord?
Yeah, I guess you could use it as an extension cord. But it's not exactly what I'd call a 'network filter'.
Is it worth the money?
No way. Not even close.
Can I inspect the product before buying?
Unfortunately, no. You pretty much have to take the seller's word for it.
What's with the packaging?
It was decent, I'll give 'em that. But that's about it.
Is this a scam?
To be honest, it feels like it.
